Sandy Beach — Attraction in Hudson

Dear community members,

i hope this message finds you well. I would like to bring your attention to an issue that has impacted our beloved Sandy Beach. In the past, this spot held a special charm, but unfortunately, it has now become laden with various restrictions.

As depicted in the attached image, my vehicle was diligently parked on the designated right side of the street Saturday, precisely from 2 PM to 5 PM. Despite what appears to be a clear indication on the signage, regrettably, I received an unexpected and rather costly $86 parking ticket.

I kindly request your understanding and support in raising awareness of this matter. Let us come together as a community to address these challenges and seek resolutions that will ensure fairness and clarity in parking regulations.

The beach was great and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a dog that loves swimming or if you would like to introduce your pup to the beach.

I'm giving this beach 4/5 because of how difficult it was to find information about hours and if it was pet-friendly (some of the info on this beach is out-dated)

As of Aug 11, 2021, the beach does NOT allow dogs between 9 am - 5 pm. Outside these hours dogs are allowed on the beach. Also, the area around the beach is heavily forested. If you are staying after dusk be prepared to deal with mosquitoes, they are quite vicious. Other than this, this beach is amazing and not very crowded which is a huge plus...

Pros: There is a sign saying no smoking, no fire, no alcohol, no swimming, no dog, no littering at the entrance, looks good from afar. Cons: nobody cares about the sign at the entrance.. The beach is littered with cigarette butts, found shards of glass from broken beer bottle in the sand, saw 2 women leave their empty beer cans behind. Some people bring their dogs, other burn some firewood, and/or share their music with everyone. You can smell the port a potty a mile away, thus most do their business in the...
