This review is for the public washroom by the entrance to the park. The park was AMAZING. BUT...THE...WASHROOM!? No no no no no. It looks amazing, a great structure! I was so excited to use it and was so glad there weren't outhouses. The inside? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. It smelled, and the all the surfaces needed to be wiped down badly. The marks all over on the stall doors were so gross. Like visibly raised gunk. Not just hand prints. I honestly contemplated squatting BEHIND the building or hoofing it into the bush a ways, bc there was pee all over the floor in the stalls. Is this a gender shared washroom? At least provide toilet seat covers. Or urinal specific stalls? Ugh. No lie, it's was yuck. And I have seen gross, I work in Healthcare. Lol! This was not cool. Sorry to be a bummer. Other than this issue, it was absolutely beautiful there, and it was maintained well. EXCEPT THAT WASHROOM! I wish...

Beautiful venue, we had a lot of fun highlighting the fall colours in the trees by uplighting them, and the ground was even enough for safe work with staging, ladders, truss, and all of the transportation thereof. The only reason I gave the place four stars instead of five is that the city really should automatically consider closing the road that winds through the park (to vehicles, at least) when they know there is going to be an event that requires building of truss structures in the middle of the road, which involves having a technician on a ladder. Drivers can be pretty aggressive, but why?? It's a park on a nice fall day. Try bringing your bicycle instead of your Durango, maybe...??? Anyways... still had a great time and hope to come back...
Read moreThere's lots of access down to the river's edge. Public washrooms are available and seem fairly accessible. Free parking. Many BBQ pits for big groups and lots of picnic tables which you can reserve. Large, open areas, shady seating areas, with a nice playground tucked away in a cool, shaded spot. So many huge, old, wise trees to hug. Well kept paths with comfortable lookouts over the beautiful North Saskatchewan river. Lots of happy dogs playing in the water. Boat launch available. It's a comfortable stroll over the Buena Vista footbridge to Hawrelak Park (currently closed), then further on, some medium challenging slopes around the golf course to Emily Murphy Park, which also has public washrooms. Except for one short, steep dip, E-bikes would be fun, an E-scoot might be more of a challenge on the...
