But the great thing about this versatile park is that it's connected to the northern trailhead for the Whitemud creek/valley trail and park system. Which is Edmonton's greatest and super ecologically diverse trail system. With just a five minute walk into the valley trail, starting from Whitemud park, you will have to keep on reminding yourself that you are still in Edmonton, or any city for that matter.

There is a warm-up shack with washrooms which are very clean. The are benches and a wall of window that faces the hill so you can watch and stay warm if your children are old enough to go sledding on their own. There is even a classically overpriced soda vending machine in case you didn't pack a lunch. The hill is not groomed so the traffic going down the hill can make it bumpy and slick.
