If you want a happenin vibe and a party atmosphere, don't come here. Strathcona Beach is a smallish park tucked away in a residential area such that the tourists and party hounds don't know about it. And that's just the way the locals want it. Mostly families and couples taking up some grassy space or laying on the nice sand beach. A children's playground and washroom facilities round out the amenities... and a small parking lot. It's also good to know that the water stays relatively shallow for a fair distance... safer for little ones and the water is warmer because of it. Read moreThis is a great little park. There are sandy and grassy areas, with some shady spots. There is a coffee cafe across the road. The playground is fairly new and good for kids 5+. My two-year-old can climb it, but it can be a bit intimidating with a large enclosed slide, as well as open areas on the climbing structure that smaller kids can fall through (like the higher structures at Quilchena).
