I brought my handicap little sister to the Abbott St., Café today. I had promised her a klovely late lunch. First of all, the café doors were not set up for handicap people. No automatic opener. Nobody offered to help. Finally found an open door and we went in. We didn’t want to sit outside as it was a little cool, and my sister wanted to sit above. I asked the people working there If we could get our food up above. They said sure. I then had to ask them how to get the wheelchair up there because nobody offered any information. This entailed going back out of the café all the way around to the next door so that we could get an elevator. I got her upstairs and settled into a lovely table where we sat for 6-7 minutes but nobody came to help us. I went downstairs and asked for a menu and they told me that we were supposed to order downstairs. It would’ve been nice to know that when we first asked how to get upstairs. Overall, this restaurant is a flop. They are half a block from the hospital and rehab centre where there are lots of handicaped people. We were treated like we weren’t there. Avoid the frustration and go elsewhere! In fact, I might recommend the royal bistro in the hospital, which was 10 times better and much friendlier and helpful than the servers at the Abbott St., Café. Give...
Read moreAbbott St. Cafe in Pandosy Village is an absolute gem! Nestled just opposite the park, its prime location offers a stunning view of Okanagan Lake from the terrace, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The ambience here is incredible – warm, inviting, and beautifully designed, providing an ideal place to spend your time.
One thing that immediately stood out to me was the cleanliness. The cafe is impeccably maintained, which adds to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the experience.
A special shout-out to Taylor and Jada, who made my first visit truly memorable! These two wonderful ladies were incredibly respectful, kind, and welcoming. They provided fantastic suggestions, and I decided to try their special holiday Gingerbread Latte. It was absolutely delightful! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was one of the best lattes I’ve had. Highly recommended if you’re visiting during the holiday season.
Thank you, Taylor and Jada, for your kindness and for creating such a positive environment. Abbott St. Cafe has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Kelowna, and I’m looking forward to...
Read moreThe owner Steven is horribly rude. If you don't like supporting businesses whose owner treats its patrons poorly don't go here. I walked in to get a coffee and almond croissant. The owner went to hand me a mask as I wasn't wearing one. I explained I have a medical exemption. That's when he told me he cannot then serve me. I again reiterated that I have a medical exemption. He then proceeded to condescendingly tell me as a business owner he has the right to refuse service to anyone. No, Steven, as a business owner you don't. If your attitude is that you have the right to discriminate towards people maybe you should resort to working by yourself, not owning a business that serves the public. By the other negative comments it seems Steven might not be the friendliest or nicest person around. So, again, you choose where you spend your money. And you choose what types of humans you want to support. Go somewhere that values...
