The museum/info center is situated in an old church. There are some artifacts outside the museum/info center and the inside is full of interesting and important historical pieces. I had a photo taken inside an old jail cell, complete with bunk bed cots. I enjoyed the downstairs area which had a historical printing press, old newspapers and things like that. The main floor had a lot of things from the gold mining days, tools, and stuff. The stop isn't a long one, you could probably see everything in 15-30 minutes give or take a bit. The visitors info center people were the best. Betty and Tarryn were so patient with answering all our questions and had some tips for interesting places for us to check out, where to eat, and so on. Yes, Lillooet is a small town and it may not have been hard to find some of the info on our own, but learning about where the osprey nest is, or the best place to look for other forms of wildlife, or where the hidden hiking trail is for the best view of the lake... That's the cool stuff that only locals would know.

We visit here as part of our journey of "Gold rush trail history" all the old utensils and stuff is amazing to see how they preserve it and well maintain it. This is a free visitation but they have a donation fee to maintain the museum. Its very details all knowlegable all the stuff from history. Much be visit!

The Lillooet Museum is filled with charm and history—but I do wish it was laid out with more of a storyline or timeline to follow. Right now, it feels a bit like walking into someone’s garage filled with amazing relics, but without a clear path or narrative to guide you through the experience.

That said, the collection is incredible. There’s so much to see: old tools, clothing, local artifacts, and pieces of early settler and Indigenous history. I love vintage telephone booth with the switchboard, hence the term switchboard lol

If you’re into local history and enjoy discovering things at your own pace, this place is...
