Beware of Fraudulent Mobile Repair Shop at Flea Market Mississauga!
I am writing to share my distressing experience at a mobile repair shop located in Flea Market Mississauga to warn others and urge the market management to take necessary action.
Incident Details: Few weeks back, I visited a mobile repair shop in Flea Market Mississauga because my phone had suddenly stopped turning on. There was no physical damage to the device. The shopkeeper, named Shahid, asked me to leave the phone for inspection and promised to fix it for $50 if possible.
The following day, I contacted the shop as instructed, but Shahid said he needed more time and asked me to call again the next day. This pattern of excuses continued until the following Friday. Finally, Shahid informed me that the phone was fixed but the repair cost had escalated to $200 due to a chip replacement.
Upon reaching the shop, Shahid claimed the phone was fixed but required two hours of charging before it would turn on. I paid the $200 and took the phone home. After charging it all day, the phone remained non-functional, raising doubts about whether any repair was attempted at all.
Subsequent attempts to contact Shahid were futile. I later discovered numerous reviews online from other customers who had experienced similar scams at his other shop locations.
Actions Needed: Investigation and Action: I urge the management of Flea Market Mississauga to investigate this shop and take appropriate action to prevent such fraudulent activities from continuing. Support for Genuine Businesses: Encourage and support real local businesses that provide honest and reliable services to the community.
Attached are photos of the shop and Shahid’s visiting card for reference. It is crucial to address this issue to protect other customers from falling victim to this deceit.

Read moreWarning for the roti shop here. Confirm the price before ordering. The ladies there are scammers. Had 2 for $5 doubles on the menu, then demanded $10 instead when giving me the food. When I asked why there was a different price they said chicken was double the price. When I asked where on the menu it said that, the lady said it was “somewhere” on the menu. When I told her i didn’t see that anywhere, she started pointing at random pictures of food on the wall inside the booth. There were no prices on those images and they were very hard to see for customers anyways. She then started yelling that they’ve been there for years and that “everyone knows that chicken is double”. Even if this was the case, a flea market is not a members only place, new people go there and scamming people is disgusting. I was out of time for my break, so I paid the scammers anyways. The food itself was 3/5. Soggy and the seasoning was so so.
The Latin place here is incredible and lots of other good food options from honest...
Read moreI've never been big on flea markets because they're more of a fraud than a bargain. That belief was reaffirmed after I visited this place.
I had heard from a couple people about finding good deals but boy, what a scam! Prices are EXACTLY the same as retail if not higher and quality of products is definitely worse.
For example, I recognized a shop owner who also runs a store in one of the nearby plazas. I've shopped from his retail shop a couple of times so I am familiar with the prices. What I noticed was that the product on display at the Flea Market was probably what he couldn't sell at the store but listed at exactly the same price. Sure, I could bargain with him and save a few bucks but even if I were able to negotiate a 20% or 25% discount, it still wouldn't be worth it.
Essentially, the stuff they can't sell at retail locations, shop owners bring to Flea Market and try to make the most of it.
STAY AWAY! Go to a regular mall and you'll definitely save more money and find better...
