RK sweets — Restaurant in Mississauga

If I could give R K Sweets a negative star I would!! Been coming here for years but the last year or so the service has been disappointing to say the least! I had done take out a few months ago and by the time I came home the containers had completely collapsed and broken, my food was all over the car. The next week when I had gone back I mentioned this to the miserable lady who’s always there, she replied ‘it’s impossible’ so I showed her the photos and she said it was probably my fault but I should’ve called them right away (I live in Brampton, so I wasn’t going back 20kms for $30 worth of food) but now she said she couldn’t do anything for me. So I boycotted them and went home empty handed refusing to give them business. Fast forward to a few months later, coming back from the states my hubby wanted Indian food so he convinced me to give RK Sweets another try, so we did take out again, the same miserable women was at the front again, My hubby was holding the food while I was driving home and the same exact thing by the time we got home, the plastic from the lid was broken and ended up in the food!! so this time I called them. The lady who answered (same miserable women) said it’s impossible that the containers broke through as this has never happened before, which is a Blatant lie as she knew this happened before. She said to come and show her the containers and I said I’m not driving back all the way to Missisauga, she said I can’t do anything so I told her I’ll send her a photo if she wants and I want a refund the next time I get in. She was extremely rude and said ‘fine I will help you but I won’t give you a refund, I will give you what was damaged’ If the service was better maybe it wouldn’t be empty all the time. Very disappointed in R K Sweets! Will def never be going...

I would assume that at least some of the more positive reviews for this location are a result of people mixing the Mississauga location up with Brar Sweets in Brampton which is a very different experience.

Saying that overall service at this location is poor is an under statement. The staff is very often too busy to offer great service and the managers tend to be doing their own thing.... But not working.

My experience this weekend was similar to my past visits in that there is a line up waiting to order take out food with one out of 3 people at the front actually taking orders. As I stood there people started to leave as they could not understand how we were being ignored by staff playing with sticky notes or counting boxes while it was so busy.

Food is mediocre at best - for example for the paneer dishes rather than cook curries and bring it then out when the buffet is empty - they often just dump some slices of panned in to the remaining gravies in the buffet.

At least do that in the back so it appears that the dish was prepared with some care.

I've had an okay experience here a couple of times, but overall my experience is as above.

On a closing note - I always second guess a restaurant that covers old pricing with hand written notes and tape in order to increase prices as they do here. At least print out new signs if the price increase is...

I have seen a great transformation at RK Sweets in Mississauga after their renovation. The place has significantly improved in terms of both their food and sweets, making it a one-stop shop for authentic Indian sweets. They have expanded their menu and now also serve non-vegetarian options, which are surprisingly good. I personally tried their biryani, and it was absolutely awesome.

I've also had the pleasure of doing catering with them at least 3 or 4 times, and each time the food has been consistently good. They prepare a variety of snacks like chaat, samosas, and pakoras, which are always fresh and tasty.

However, please note that the restaurant is currently not operating for dine-in. I visited today specifically for Diwali sweets, and they offered some nice festive touches such as a complimentary mehndi stall, along with free tea and Tiki Chat on the occasion of Diwali.

One thing to keep in mind is that they have recently increased their prices, so that’s something to be aware of when purchasing. Overall, RK Sweets has become much better after their renovation and is definitely worth a visit for sweets, snacks, and...
