This spot at the intersection/end of the Lachine canal park bikepath, and the riverside bikepath is the beginning of Lachine. the last/first lock of the original canal system, so it's historic. Once one crosses the lock bridge, to the left above the lock is a marina, while to the right is a restaurant with outdoor seating. This spot is also a bicycle bypass. Further along, back on the city side are two immense car lots, and a gate with tourist info and a bike rental shop. Visitors are welcomed to 800m jetty in to the St-Laurent, on one side, the marina on the other. The area has public art, an arboretum, Canada geese and views. Good for visitors and fisherfolk. LaSalle, Atwater Market, and even further is Montreal centre ville, and old port. Its a good bikepath but areas are under repair as there is work being done on the canal.
