Go on a Thursday it's 8$ for the double feature regular price is 20$. There is the EXO experience which is a small exhibit between the 2 theatres to play in while you wait. There are 2 theatres, Chaos Theatre which has bean bags and Adirondack chairs. If you line up early you can get a bean bag it's well worth it it's so comfortable and homey. We saw the asteroids mission narrated by Sigourney weaver done by national geographic. It wasn't anything spectacular but was informative and made fun by using the bean bag chairs. Then in the Milky Way theatre you get a real planetarium experience with a Konica Minolta Infinium Projector. To give you a hyper realistic view of our night sky and constellations. It was beautiful and extremely well done. All beit. Way too short. It was about 10 minutes from the projector and 30 minutes of mars rover footage. Which was cool but I would prefer more time with the projector it was goegeous. The seats in here reclined back it would be better i think to sit in the outer rim rather then the inner rim you are constantly having to crane your neck. Great fun though and very pretty. Definitely worth 8$ maybe not 20$ though. And both features are included in either price.

With exhibits about Meteors and planets, this Planetarium serves as a basic and intermediate source of information for Space science. It's better to carry a sticky note, as the 75 minute Astronomy show proved to be really useful. The show took us on a journey through the cosmos, constellations and tracing the planets nearby Earth, and the Northern lights. The setback was that the seating was not totally comfortable for the view, as we had to tilt our heads couple of times to look behind during the constellations part. To feed your hunger, there are food options inside the Planetarium and also in the Cineplex, which is just few yards away from the place. Clean restrooms, Wheelchair accessible entrance and parking are available. If you are from Quebec, please do carry a proof that you are a resident, as the price is less for Quebecois vs the rest, which was a shocker for me, though I am from Montreal, as I opine that visitors shouldn't be distinguished in this way. Also, I didn't come across such policy in tourist places in Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba. I hope the authorities reconsider this decision. thanks

This was our first visit to the new planetarium. The films Passport to the Universe and the Birth of Planet Earth were very good. We liked the first film better. The bean bag chairs made it really casual and fun but might be difficult for people with disabilities or mobility issues. The films last about an hour and there are some.exhibis of nature photos from around the world as well as exhibits of space photos from amateur astronomy. There is also a very interesting exhibit of meteorites from around the world - a young gentleman was very helpful with some interesting facts. Apart from that, it seemed lacking.. as if something else was missing. I'm not sure if there are usually other exhibits, but some hand on exhibits or information on Canada's participation in the space program, maybe a model of the CanadArm or astronauts would have Made it more complete. Even some planetary knowledge, or random space facts exhibits. The cost was ok for 2 films, so it's still worth the visit.

I booked a ticket to see the movie AURŌRAE. I bought a regular ticket without checking the CMM resident tickets. It's only later that I realized I was eligible for the reduced price! 😕 I really liked the movie AURŌRAE (25 min.) which allowed me to understand the phenomenon of the Northern Lights. The main ticket includes another movie TOTAL ECLIPSE: IN SEARCH OF LOST SLEEP (25 min.). This is a program for children. The reason these films are shown in the morning is because there are groups of classes attending them. The children are rather excited during screenings. 😁 However, the seats in the viewing room are more or less comfortable for the neck. 🥲 As for the Planetarium, apart from the Lego models, I would have liked if there were more exhibitions on the site. I understand that it is difficult to have full-size replicas of ships and planets. 🚀

Amazing place to go with your kids or s/o. It's not expensive and it's fun and exciting :) they offer several different spectacles but some of them get sold out pretty quickly, so it's best if you buy the tickets online. Or you can also check the dates and show times and buy the tickets there on the spot if you want. Also forget about the boring uncomfortable chairs. At Rio Tinto Alcan they have bean bags :) sit very close to your kids and partner and enjoy the show :) Prices: I believe each show costs around $20 dollars but each show is about one hour length. And it's very very easy to get there using public transportation. You can just take the subway and walk there. There's also a mall nearby, so you can fix yourself a snack there before going to the planetarium.

Not that expensive and really fun to pass some time. There isn't much to see in terms of an exhibit so you'd spend maybe 30 mins before or after, so it's basically the 2 shows that are about 20 mins each but plan 1 hr for the 2 shows for the waiting in between time The architecture is really interesting, there is maquette downstairs that explains the two théâtres are meant to be binoculars. COVID: you get inside and need to sanitize your hands, they make you wear their surgical mask so it's new and clean. Only one entrance in where the ORIGINES sign is. Limited tickets sold, the dome theatre isn't filled and is well spaced. Entrance and gift shop closes at 530pm but you have time after your show to see the exhibits once you're already in.
