We visited the Lion’s Head Lighthouse on a Saturday. Parking in the neighborhood can be challenging, so it might be easier to park in town and walk. The lighthouse itself is picturesque, especially with the stunning mountains in the background. There's also a public washroom for convenience. On Saturday mornings, there's a farmers' market where you can enjoy local pastries and farm products. The beach, although small and clearly man-made, adds to the charm of the area. The port is also a great spot for photos. Overall, it's worth a quick visit to walk around and take in the sights, but an hour is more than enough time to explore everything.

It was a hard hike an hour, kept getting lost coming back and going. I could only reach the lookout. The point view was so so far and in his extra three hours. The total time took me three hours to reach Lookout point and back. I went in September on a weekend. Wasn’t that busy, The parking is $20. There’s bad service. I do recommend planning six hours for this hike . The view was nice, but if you didn’t come, you didn’t miss a lot.

After my hike around Lionshead, this is a nice place to just sit down and bring a packed meal to enjoy the view. There is a tiny lighthouse at the end and there is night time stargazing. At the time I was there and it wasn’t offered. There are many boats that are parked. The water is extremely cold during May. I came during the daytime and evening and it was safe to walk around.

We visited Lion's Head for an evening of star gazing with Bayside Astronomy. We had planned to take in one of their events for several years now and never made it for one reason or another.

Bayside Astronomy consists of a group of about 10 or so volunteers who share their love of astronomy with the public. They run their program about 50 nights each summer. They brought about 10 very large telescopes allowing about 100 people who attended to view various planets and galaxies, without a long wait. They meet at the marina around sunset and generally stay until the last people viewing decide to call it a night.

We were fortunate enough to have a clear night, to see Saturn, it's rings and one moon; Jupiter and 4 of its moons and the andromeda galaxy before calling it a night. To the north of us the Northern lights started to make an appearance, to top it off.

The program is well run and worth the time to go to Lion's Head or one of the three venues where they hold their program, in the dark sky preserve of Northern Bruce Peninsula. If you are on holiday in the area next year plan to take this event in. Children are welcomed and accomodated with step stools to assist them in being able to see into the...
