This review specifically speaks to the Wolf Chalet onsite lodging experience. We would not recommend this very expensive option at Parc Omega. We booked a non-refundable chalet in July for 1 night, as a huge splurge on our trip to Montreal. We were shown pictures and there was a description on the site of the 2 bedroom unit which included access to an outdoor 2nd story balcony overlooking the wolf enclosure. The two bedroom unit showed a cost of $540CAD, which as we finished booking turned into a real cost of $762CAD with taxes. Removing park admission, the real cost for the overnight was over $600 CAD. Part of online check-in a few days prior to arrival included an entry asking us to guarantee we would not stand kids on the balcony railing. Yet when we arrived to pick up our key, we were informed that the balcony had been closed for animal safety. Our unit also had maintenance and cleanliness issues, including a broken shower head, the floor boards in the unit were filthy as if they hadn't been wiped in months, and even had urine on them in the bathroom, there were dead bugs (dozens) in the entry floor and window, there were no drinking glasses, etc. There were no instructions letting us know that we could turn on outside lights to see the wolves after dark, we were just lucky to notice the switch, and no info about the wolf behavior or what we might see. It also became apparent that the wolves were let into and out of the enclosure yard by our units for set periods of time, with 5 appearing at 8:30pm and then all leaving as a group out a corner of the back fence at 10pm, then 2 appearing at 8am and disappearing at 9am. So basically over the stay for us between 6pm and 11am the wolves were visible about 2 1/2 hours. We couldn't check in before 6pm so maybe there was another visit at 4pm if you arrived at the earliest time. We did not have wolves up by our windows, that is just the reality of what they chose to do that evening, but it was kinda sad to have so little chance to see them and no chance at all to view them from outside. The quality of the furnishings absolutely did not justify the cost, decor by Ikea, framed posters rather than nicer artwork, and although the kitchen was equipped adequately, I suspect most guests are more interested in the wolf interaction than cooking supplies. We brought up our concerns with the manager at the end of our stay, but they told us no refund would be possible and seemed to think that taking the pictures of the balcony off the current website booking site (well after we had booked) and informing upon check in was adequate response even though we were led to believe it was available right up until we checked in. We couldn't have cancelled the room based on its condition with a non-refundable reservation, so basically it is just tough luck that we spent that much money for looking at the wolves through our window for 2 1/2 hours. In hindsight, I would rather have just spent extra money to attend a wolf presentation during a day visit and stayed elsewhere to save ourselves $400 and I would recommend anyone thinking of staying here to consider that option instead. We enjoyed the drive through the park and the staff were nice, but our experience staying over night in the chalet was a real disappointment and...
Read moreWe recently visited Parc Omega, and while it was overall a good family outing, I would give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars based on our experience. The park has a lot of potential, and I understand the appeal, especially for families with young children—but in all honesty, it didn’t quite live up to the hype we were expecting based on the reviews and the price.
We started our visit at the welcome centre, which was probably one of the highlights. It’s clean, well-designed, and offers a gift shop, café, and restrooms. It definitely sets the tone nicely and creates excitement at the beginning. The staff were pleasant, and everything felt organized and safe, which is great when you’re visiting with kids.
The drive-through experience was interesting at first—feeding carrots to deer and watching animals approach the car had a certain charm, and the kids loved it. However, as the drive went on, it became a bit repetitive and underwhelming. We expected a more diverse range of animals or at least something a little more engaging. Instead, the majority of the animals we saw were wild boars, deer, and a few elk, with not much else in between. Some enclosures seemed completely empty or inactive, and there were long stretches where we barely saw any animals at all.
While I understand that it’s a more natural, open environment—and that animal sightings can vary—the park felt a bit “quiet” and almost lifeless in some sections. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but we did find ourselves wondering if this was it. The wolves and bears were either not visible or just laying around, and other animals we hoped to see were nowhere to be found. It definitely felt like the variety was lacking, especially when compared to other wildlife parks or similar attractions.
That said, the kids still had fun, and from a family perspective, it was worth the visit for the novelty. They enjoyed feeding the animals and rolling down the windows to interact, and there are some beautiful natural views along the way.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but with realistic expectations. If you’re going mostly for the children or for a calm, scenic experience, it might be worth it. But if you’re expecting something truly dynamic or filled with animal encounters, you may leave feeling a bit underwhelmed. It’s good—not great—and I wouldn’t rush to go back, but I don’t regret...
Read moreWe had a spontaneous trip where we book the day before and decided to stay here. If you plan to go to quebec coming from toronto or either way, this is best place to stay in between drive. Located between ottawa and montreal.
We got the summer package which includes tipi stay + breakfast + park access for $200 for 2 people which is the best bang for your buck. The reception and restaurant staffs were great, accommodating and helpful as we speak only english.
The breakfast from the omegabon restaurant was really great and big portion, we both liked it. We regret not eating here during dinner or have their dinner package. We came early for breakfast around 8(?) and we were the first one and our server seated us w the best view. I highly suggest going early so after breakfast you can go straight to the car safari at 9am(not busy). After we finished the car safari after 2hours, the line of cars was huge by the entrance. You can buy carrots prior coming to parc omega but if not you can buy from the restaurant or the gift shop inside the car trail for $4 to feed the animals.
The only downside if booking with Tipi, cannot see or book which tipi you can get. You will only know once you check in. We got #10 and we were at the very end, on top of an uphill. It was a hike to go there. I wished i knew that, i think they have a special request box on booking which i ignored since i had no idea. I hope the management would put an extra toilet on those tipis on uphill because it was such a hike going down just to use a washroom, it was quite far from our site. Also, there are cabins which deers lingers infront of your door. It was booked when we went. Book in advance for that i guess.
Everything was a great experience, we enjoyed staying here and we got to see all kinds of animals up close. It was clean and safe. Oh, yes, spray bug spray once you come out of your car. I would love to come back again during winter to have a different feel of the area. Thank you! Also, easy to communicate online if you have...
