Carnarvon Park — Attraction in Oak Bay

This park has really well-maintained grass and softball areas. My dog and I walk through there often, and he likes to lay down on the grass in the shady areas. At the other end, though, is the fairly run-down tennis/pickleball courts, lacrosse box, and compound for basketball and kids' activities. I don't have much need to go into these areas, but despite being in need of an update, they are highly popular. And there's the kids' water park that was always a great experience for my kids when they were younger!

We specifically visited the water park, built by the Rotary club. Fun for kids under 6. The structures aren't suited to older kids. Gated so it's easy to keep an eye on runners. A few rubber tires are coming up and tripping kids. Small and cramped. Easily 120 kids were there on the day we were, while 4 of 5 tennis courts and the lawn bowling club next door were completely empty I guess my issue is with Victoria Parks and Rec; why there aren't there 4 or 5 more water parks like this all over the city? One of the best water parks in Victoria! My two year old loves coming here and always has a good time. Washrooms are available, although the facilities are quite dated and there is no baby change table. It's a large park with lots of share and places to sit.
