This was once my favourite breakfast place but it suffered the curse of brunch spots with long waits so I hadn't visited for a long time. I invited a business friend to meet me there for breakfast. I was genuinely excited - I love latkes and this used to be where I could get a eggs benny on latkes. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I needed to flag our server down after being there a while (and I worked in hospitality so not impatient). I gave my order and she offered me the choice of potatoes or a salad. I went with potatoes. The food arrived and I requested ketchup (I dont eat this condiment on anything but home fries!) None available, OK. As I started eating the benny tasted off. I ate a few of the bare potatoes but would have ordered the salad instead had it been revealed earlier. After I ate the poached egg and hollandaise off the top and flipped the first latke, it was burnt. Both latkes were burnt and turned upside down. Mystery solved. I stopped eating. The server came to clear plates (my friends pancakes were a hit) and asked me what was wrong I explained and she acknowledged and apologized. She returned with a bill that had a $5 discount on a $23 item that was truly horrible. I totally understand when things go wrong in a kitchen but this was a case of someone burning a major component and then hiding it. I wont ever go back to this Village location. Ive heard the Royal Oak...

When I walked through the door, I got shouted upon with words "What do you want " . Their staff are so disgustingly rude to you that would put off all prospective customers. How can you do business with such rude staff?
Dear Owner, It is a fact that the aggressive tone of your staff's voice on telling me off in a loud and clear manner " What do you want " is succinct to proof that she is being impolite. This is a very bad customer service. She had shouted at me at the top of her voice, I was very shocked and offended by that kind of unruly behaviour.
The fact that she did said "What do you want" is decidedly IMPOLITE. This is not the right tone of voice nor proper words to treat your prospective customers.
Being a prospective customer, and without knowledge of your closing time ( there is NO sign on your door to state that your restaurant is closed for the day) and neither was the door close at that material time. In fact, your door was wide opened. This only implied that your restaurant is opened for business.
Please, please take this as a lesson learn --staff rudeness is bad for business. And if you read some of the comments by others here, you would appreciate that some of your staff were...
