This isn’t a review for the plays but the young people’s company. When my daughter first started camp at Theatre Orangeville she really enjoyed herself but as time went on she liked it less. They have a very clear bias towards boys and chose favourites. There were different committees my daughter would have liked to be a part of because she would have gotten more volunteer hours but they were only made available to certain kids. She doesn’t even enjoy performing as much as she used to because she was always overlooked at Theatre Orangeville. If parents are looking to get their kids into theatre to boost confidence I think they should look at some of the other cheaper options in the area. Read moreWhat a show, in such a stunning venue, the Opera house is a stunning restoration of a vintage theater, really remarkable being in a space with so much history, the seats where renovated originals, with intricate iron work, the seating also gave every seat a good view of the stage. The show, a sound of music, was also amazing, originally I was told it was a 3 hour show, great value for money, and with 2 younger children I thought we would have to leave early, but the quality of the lighting, costumes, set design, singing and acting, in fact the whole production was top quality. Read moreI want to commend Theatre Orangeville’s amazing customer service! Yesterday, the weather was pretty crappy and I did not feel safe driving. When I called the box office to check if the show would still proceed I was informed that if I needed to exchange my tickets for anther evening, that as long as there was availability they would do it no problem. I was able to exchange my tickets for another evenings performance and I received my new mobile tickets and confirmation in minutes. I am very grateful as not many companies would do that. Now my mom will still get to enjoy her birthday gift....
