My first experience at the new Green Fresh location was horrible. Before I commented, I reviewed other 1-star comments and found out that I was NOT the only one customer being treated rudely by the specific cashier( the cashier line close to customer service, guessed it was line 1) .

My case was, yesterday when I tried to redeem the Green Fresh $50 e-gift card at cash out, the lady asked me in MANDARIN to scan the barcode in the Sunmi payment terminal, however my card was not read successfully. I tried again and still not working.i explained to her in Mandarin that i bought this e-gift card from Snaplli but could not redeem, I then talked to my husband in our dialect it didn't work in the vanier location too, guessed it could be the system or the card reader problem. Then the woman became very grumpy and suddenly talked to me in ENGLISH "I already told you to try again and you did, your barcode was not read and that's it ." I was like, excuse me? If i might bother other customers in line, she could simply ask me to get technical support from customer service. Why did we communicate all in Mandarin at the beginning but she suddenly change to English when a customer had difficulty at cashout? Her English was definitely not her mother tongue as i could hear her accent. Her attitude really ruined my expectations the new location.

Before i tried to argue in English, my husband paid right away and calmed me down in the car. I have seen Green Fresh move from the old Plaza to Vanier, and now one more location. I have been always happy with Vanier location. However, Bye-bye to Nepean location, the store image was badly ruined by terrible shopping experience I would prefer to drive a bit further to T&T but not return to Nepean Green...

Beware of the tropical fruits they sell in this store. We bought 2 pieces of the very expensive soursop (guyabano). This is not very easy fruit to find in Ottawa and we finally found it here. But it seems that the fruits we picked were unsold ones and then frozen. I guess this store does not want the fruits to go to waste, because they were expensive, so probably they freeze it when they realize it was starting to get bad. Then let it thaw and then re-sell it again. Or worst, they are selling rotten and hardened fruits. Very shady way to cheat customers. We initially thought they were just hard and still needs time to ripen. The fruit never ripened after a week. When we finally decided to open both fruits, they were all rotten from the inside. What a big waste of money and time.

As well, if you are going to put people to work as cashiers, put somebody who can speak English at least. We had a cashier whom I ask if they accept this type of credit card and instead, she starts talking to me in Chinese. Then she points me to go to customer service and we have a long line and I have lots of groceries already out from the grocery basket. For Christ's sake, we are in Canada. Did this grocery store expect that everybody who buy in a Chinese grocery store are chinese or can speak chinese ? I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS GROCERY...

Leaving a negative review so that owners take notice and try to improve this going forward.

I went here for the first time today.

Firstly, the hot food is actually really good. They had different items compared to T&T. And the price is very reasonable.

It's a pretty big store with a good variety of products including items from a local bakery which was great to see!

However, when I visited the seafood section I was met with a rude employee. I was taking pictures of the fish there and all of a sudden he yells at me like I made an obvious error and said pictures aren't allowed. Then he stared at me the entire time I was there like I wasn't welcome. When I asked to buy some fish he said it's sold out even though it was clearly not. I left and asked the customer service employees and they said there is no such rule about taking pictures and they apologized.

In any case I don't think I'll be visiting this store any time soon based on the experience I had visiting for the first time.

I generally don't leave negative reviews. But I think in this case it...

Been shopping here for years. Really disappointed for a recent visit and will never come back. Purchase a bag of bok choy. Cooked with noodles as normal do, however the bok choy taste really bitter. Been in Canada for 10 years and never had this such bitter bok choy. Definitely overdosed with pesticide. Brought it back ask for a explaination. The guy at front desk is very impatient (probably had an attitude that day). Said I can take the bok choy to test or whatever. No apologize No explanation No nothing. Refund the bok choy for $3(who cares about 3$, I am more worried for the potential pesticide issue) This really shows how irresponsible these people are, they couldn't care less about my situation and essential just asking me to kick rocks. Really disappointed, will report this event to food safety and will never visit green fresh again. had to ask to keep a sample for testing(hell no I gonna spend my own time on their fault l). I will leave it to the professionals

The newly opened Asian grocery store is a great addition to the area. On its first day, it was extremely busy and packed, but they offer an impressive selection of products, including a wide variety of snacks and a massive wall of soy sauce—just what you'd expect from an Asian market. The store is clean, and the produce section is fresh and well-stocked. There are five checkout lanes and a customer service counter, but no self-checkout option. They also have a hot food bar and a bubble tea station, which is a nice touch. Overall, it’s a solid shopping experience. The only downside is that it’s hard to identify the staff since they seem to be wearing regular clothes. Uniforms would make them much easier to spot when you need assistance.

I'm impressed by the variety of options available. Well stocked with Fresh food, dairy, meat, pastries, tea and much more. Lovely layout, spacious and easy to navigate as each section is well labelled with clear signages. The prices are also reasonable and affordable, relative to other stores. Hard-to-find items unique to Asia and even part of Africa can be found here. Plenty of parking available with accessible ♿ parking and entrance. I love the supermarket; I'll visit again.
