Beautiful easy to access spot with shallow limestone flats for supervised children to explore, however the area is covered by dozens of standing rock "sculptures" which at first seem interesting, but are actually a major CRUSHING HAZARD for young children.
The stone "sculptures" are balanced and stacked without masonry and some are nearly five feet tall with precariously perched boulders on top. These structures are easily toppled by even very young children's curiosity, essentially turning the sculpture into A HUMAN DEADFALL TRAP!
The "artist" who makes these structures has even gone as far as to rope off part of the public beach to try to limit access to only himself. I was approached by this "artist" while searching for aquatic fauna with my son and cautioned to stay away from his sculptures. Read moreA beautiful location for family, friends and couples. By the water offers you a great view of the rapids and the ability to self distance with friends. There is sufficient space to keep at least six feet apart if you are there with friends. I would highly recommend this location as a mean to combat the monotonous day of self isolation with assurance that you will not only keep yourself safe but others around you as well. This location will also help with relieving stress and giving you some peace to ease your way back into some resemblance of normalcy. The babbling rapids not only relaxes your spirit but your soul as well. When the time permits I would tell anyone to visit these rapids to ease whatever stress might be plaguing you or...
