Beautiful easy to access spot with shallow limestone flats for supervised children to explore, however the area is covered by dozens of standing rock "sculptures" which at first seem interesting, but are actually a major CRUSHING HAZARD for young children.

The stone "sculptures" are balanced and stacked without masonry and some are nearly five feet tall with precariously perched boulders on top. These structures are easily toppled by even very young children's curiosity, essentially turning the sculpture into A HUMAN DEADFALL TRAP!

The "artist" who makes these structures has even gone as far as to rope off part of the public beach to try to limit access to only himself. I was approached by this "artist" while searching for aquatic fauna with my son and cautioned to stay away from his sculptures. I in turn cautioned him to mind his own business, and asked him what he thought about endangering the experience of exploration for the children with his hazard stacks. The "artist" dodged the question and changed the subject by trying to show my son the anemone fossils he has cordoned off behind his special exclusive rope line. The "artist" seemed very impressed by his own ego and had no apologies for his selfish dominance...

Beautiful view of the fall colours, you can stroll or rollerblade, bike along the shoreline path. While there you might notice that some of the park is cornered off in efforts of reforestation to the park after this year's flooding. While there you can stopped by and see the various rock statues or structures in the water or by the shore. There are benches, picnic tables and currently they have porta potties. New this year there is a Bistro that have bar like stools that face the water, tables and chairs, picnic table and parasols over most of the eating area. They serve an array of foods such as hotdogs, hamburgers, sausages, salads, cooked potatoes with garlic, sandwiches, a few desserts, they sell beverages such as beer, juices, water, pop. This being Thanksgiving Weekend the Bistro might be closing soon. It's a very scenic place along the river especially seeing all the colourful trees, water flowing by, nature all around, ducks, geese and they have big parking lot. Great place for painting the landscapes and photos, families and...

A beautiful location for family, friends and couples. By the water offers you a great view of the rapids and the ability to self distance with friends. There is sufficient space to keep at least six feet apart if you are there with friends. I would highly recommend this location as a mean to combat the monotonous day of self isolation with assurance that you will not only keep yourself safe but others around you as well. This location will also help with relieving stress and giving you some peace to ease your way back into some resemblance of normalcy. The babbling rapids not only relaxes your spirit but your soul as well. When the time permits I would tell anyone to visit these rapids to ease whatever stress might be plaguing you or...

DO NOT SWIM In an attempt to find the slightest bit of beauty within the city of Ottawa, I came across Remic Rapids Park. The park consists of what looked like a beautiful little beach, but as I got closer, I was overshadowed by the overwhelming and unpleasant sight of countless dead fish scattered along the shore. The stench was unbearable, making it impossible to enjoy the mediocre view. I would strongly advise anyone wishing for a fun beach day to look elsewhere. The beach would work as a nice place for a stroll, but other than that, if you love your children, I'd suggest not letting them splash around in there.

Great little spot to rest after a long walk or bike along the John A Macdonald parkway. This time of year the water is still too high for stone art but at the height of summer this is the spot to splash around and play with stones and make amazing stone art. There’s a convenient outhouse, a look out, lots of park benches, a couple of bbqs for some good old charcoal bbqing, and little nooks that will let visitors venture out a little further into the water. A great little park for visitors!
