Bowling at The Canadian Brewhouse - Uptown — Attraction in Saanich

First, and probably last time going there.

We were with a small group, but not informed beforehand there was a forced 18% gratuity, until the bill came. I was in a hurry to get out, so I just paid it, but in retrospect, I should have demanded it be removed because the service was not great, the server was a bit rude, and it was hard flagging her down at times.

I had the tacos which were really bad and tasteless. The fish taco had no sauce and just some stale lettuce and chopped tomato. The beef taco had no sauce either and tasted like cardboard. My wife had similar complaints about her food. Couldn't find the server to complain and I didn't really want to either because I felt if I did, my replacement plate would get something on it I would rather not eat.

One of our group got her order which had a sauce she requested not be on it. The server took it away from her, but asked if anyone else in the group wanted it. We assumed it was comped because it was a wrong order. But nope, she told us we'd be charged for the plate if we kept it. So it went back to the kitchen.

My wife had a long island iced tea which she said tasted completely watered down and she questioned whether there was any alcohol at all in the drink. Again, because of the server's attitude, she decided not to complain.

I guess on the upside, the first traditional margarita I had was okay, and faithful to the drink. The second had more ice, and the last one was just all ice, and I couldn't even taste alcohol (the measly 1oz they are supposed to put in)

The coup de graçe was, after this poor service, poor food and drink, they force a 18% gratuity on you. IMO, these "guaranteed" gratuities only guarantee one thing: poor...

Service was very slow for not being busy took over one hour to get as cold food food was notice I was over cooked. They messed up on the strength and they took 20 minutes to get drink on table this place needs to be more organized your stuff and you guys need to do it way better job for your customers and will not return to this place. Not very organized place at all. Not worth a price what your pay for cold food over priced not returning at all and I will not tell anybody to go to this place went downhill big-time not press get that around trying to organize and have better quality food food is way over price for what you get. You guys should not be running our place like that if you can’t know how to run...

Honestly would’ve only given 2 stars if it weren’t for the cool games at bowling and PHENOMENAL drinks. I had a virgin peach tea and my family had cocktails and we all thought they were perfect; props to the bartender! Didn’t ask for any names but we were bowling on Friday July 21 at 7:30pm. Service was below sub-par. Waited 20 minutes before having to go over to the bar (on the other side of the floor mind you) to ask if we could order something at bowling. Took another 8 minutes for a waitress to come take our order. Not once in the entire hour we were there did anyone check on us, ask if we wanted refills, or ask if we needed anything.
