Though parking can be a problem on the weekends and during peak times, this park is the perfect place to spend the day. There's a large playground (wood chip ground) with three separate swingsets, three slides (more if you count all the spots you can slide around on the 3 sea creature structures), a zipline, and more structures which kids of all ages can hide in and maneuver about on. Then, when the kids are tired of all that climbing and swinging, there is a sand beach to sit and play on. More than just a kids spot, this park is also scattered with about a dozen picnic benches as well as other seating. There is a reasonably-sized grass field on which kites can be flown, Frisbees tossed, etc. Bathrooms usually have soap and a hand dryer (but I can't recall if it has warm water). Though it has been closed off because of COVID-19, there is generally a water fountain/bottle filling station available near the bathrooms. At certain times of the year, dogs are also welcome on the beach. I spent 5 hours there this spring with my 3 kids, aged 2-10, and they were never bored. Just thirsty- bring...

One of my favourite beaches for many reasons. It is a great place for family, by yourself or a couple of friends. You can park in the parking lot (toilets here as well) by the playground which the kids love - Zip line for the smaller kids (under 12) and that is so popular. Lots to play on, places for picnics and field for running. Right attached is the beach which stretches a long ways both directions. If you are looking at the water then head to the far left along to the end for a quieter environment. This area of the beach gets the sun late in the day and wonderful for picnic dinners on a blanket as the sun lowers itself. Lots of dogs running by on this end which is entertaining but sometimes you will need to direct them away if you have food. Very relaxing and you get a different vibe depending on where you want to situate yourself. Definitely where the locals go so join in. Buses arrive nearby. Close to pub, restaurant and grocery stores a couple blocks away. A...

Caddy Bay is a great beach. The sand is soft, there's driftwood to sit on or to mess around with, and there's an excellent concrete platform on the east side for any activity that needs solid ground near the sand. There's a wooden swing attached to a tree on the west side (right when facing the water) to check out. There are restrooms of decent hygiene by the large grass field near the entrance of the beach. Alongside the restrooms is a water fountain with a pet bowl attached and bike racks with plenty of room. You can probably tell by the pictures but the playground is also massive with plenty of fun structures for the kids to play on. Definitely an excellent choice of beach to visit whether you're coming through or have been in Victoria for...

There is a fantastic spot for family outings and enjoying the natural beauty of Cadboro Bay. The sandy beach is perfect for kids to play, and the playground and zip line offer a lot of fun activities. The views are absolutely stunning, making it a great place for a relaxing day by the water. It's also a popular spot for kite flying and taking leisurely walks along the shoreline. However, one downside is that occasionally, some visitors leave garbage and food waste behind. It would be great if everyone could help keep this beautiful park clean by disposing of their trash properly. Overall, Gyro Park is a wonderful place to visit and enjoy nature, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant beach day in Victoria.

This park is good if you want to experience both worlds from the play area to the beach front! Whoever keep this place clean is doing a massively good job. The swings, the slides, the zip line, younger kids area, boat, even the washroom! One thing I am not a big fan of is the octopus slide. Ian not saying it’s bad but, I think since it’s cement, maybe a bit dangerous? I mean, I grew up with those, I am sure and still came out okay. :) Beach side is good too!!! But I think it needs more space, it will be crowded when sun is up and wind isn’t blowing much, IMO. Overall,my kid had fun together with he cousins and family enjoyed it.

The views are beautiful, especially at sunset. Such a big, unrestricted view of the sky. The parking was almost nightmarish with being rammed packed with cars, bikes, dogs and people when we came. The playground area was pretty much the same, there were definitely more than 70 people in that one area and more than half weren't taking any covid precautions at all. Kids running all over the jungle gym and playground equipment like nothing was going on...I might come back at some time when things die down and get back to whatever normal was..
