Very over priced and the Portions are way too small! I ordered the Matsuki-an lunch combo and I thought the karaage chicken would have been alot bigger, I got 3 bite sized little pieces. Usually in a lunch combo you get a whole roll of sushi, I got 4 peices of California roll and 3 prices of a cucumber roll, 7 prices in total, a whole roll is usually 8. I found the rice to be a little on the wet side and my California roll fell apart, the nori wasn't around the whole way. Gave 2 stars because atleast it tasted better than grocery store sushi, but for 17.50 plus the tip I gave I was expecting to be full after my lunch, I'm still very hungry.

Lovely little local sushi joint. I had the spicy mix dinner and added a spicy scallop nigiri, because other reviewers mentioned portion size was small. It was too much to finish. The cucumber and noodle salad in vinegar dressing was light and refreshing. Miso soup was elevated from your standard miso with two types of tofu. And the edamame and wild rice salad was nutty and unique. Fish was outstanding. The soybean wrap hand rolls were particularly great. Price was on point, I think the combos are a great deal considering everything that is included.

I really like this place :) My friend and I came just as they opened on Saturday morning and got great service. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Mutsuki-An lunch, which came with a number of small dishes. I liked the variety and I got to try some of everything without getting too full. This place is a little on the pricer side but I think it's worth it because it serves more traditional style Japanese food rather than some of the more westernized restaurants in Victoria. Come here if this is what you're looking for.

The food is pretty good and high quality. The restaurant is nice and cozy. But the reason I have to give this place 3 stars only is because they owner doesn't know how to deal with customers. I understand that this is subjective and dependent on personality, but he seems very rigid and uncomfortable, which in turn makes you feel uncomfortable. For example, he will only serve certain dishes with certain sauces and if you're willing to pay extra for any dressing or garnish he won't do it. Also, don't come here if you plan to be on your cell phone. There's a no cellphone policy. Good idea, but that's a weird way of trying to control the...

I highly recommend this small and relaxed sushi place in Cadboro Bay. The owner, Mike, serves all the tables himself, and you'll fall in love with his gentle demeanor. This is a slow food kind of place where you'll find yourself relaxing and getting comfortable. The food is consistently outstanding. The donburi bowls are huge and fresh, the rolls are always wonderfully balanced and tightly rolled, and the miso soup is the best in the city. I would suggest trying the Deluxe Spicy Tuna Roll. It packs a good spicy punch but is offset by the fresh, minty shiso leaf rolled within....
