The diversity of ecosystems present here is truly magical. There is bird song everywhere and an very large number of bird species. We saw man moose and white tailed deer. I'd live there in a flash. Lodgepole Grill, on the lake shore, has very good fish and chips and decent burgers. I highly recommend it if you are sick of grilling in the open. I have not camped here when there are a lot of people or children and suspect I would find the campsite a bit too close together. However, it is a great place if you have kids as there are playgrounds and real bathrooms. Unfortunately, there are also street lights. That dark sky preserve advertising is a lie. Only a very small area is off limits for lights and it is private.

Beautiful place for camping during summer. If like hiking, there are lots of hiking trails. There's activity boating. There is a swimming pool, zipline and go kart.

Can't believe I've only stayed on the Alberta side. This place charges $10 entry, but it's worth it as the park is well-maintained. Lots to see and do.

Stopped here to hike. The visitor centre is very nice with clean bathrooms. The staff were very helpful and gave us recommendations for hikes where we'd see lots of wildflowers and birds (we were there in early June) and gave us good advice about roads to avoid due to mud. It had rained quite a bit just before we were there. Great view of the lake from the centre and nice benches and picnic tables just across the road. We enjoyed watching ducklings and goslings while we ate. We hiked three very different trails: Native Prairie Trail - awesome flowers. I've never seen so many shooting star flowers before. It was glorious! Highland Trail - It was fun watching the pelicans fly in and feed on the fish. The sound of the spring that feeds the little lake/pond was very relaxing. And there were lots of flowers to enjoy here too. Valleyview Trail - Did a little "forest bathing" -- so nice to just soak up the smell of the trees and the sound of the wind blowing. It was a nice cool shady hike on a...

Absolutely great place. We had a long weekend there last week and it was brill. Our little nippers loved it. Only 2 things I maked down on was 1, No where to was dirty pots and pans. We were in a trailer tent with no sink and we found there wasn't a facility to wash up. 2, the pool closes too early. We arrived Friday and set up then decided to head to the pool to cool off. We got there just before 5 to find a closed sign on the door even tho it didn't actually close till 6. Didn't spoil it tho as we went to the lake instead. Great place...
