Cypress 2025 🏕️ @Treeosix Adventure Parks always so much fun!

I've lived my whole life in this province and, despite having heard great things about this park, never taken the trip down to Cypress Hills myself. Having spent 5 days there this past August weekend I can confidently say it's a hidden gem in the province with unique (for SK) geography, wildlife encounters, trails and a great community of people who make the park hum. Highlights would be visiting the observatory during the Perseid Meteor showers, visiting Bald Butte late at night for some astrophotography (with about a half dozen other photographers), walking and biking the Trans-Canada trail and seeing deer, moose, birds, and squirrels all over the place. I would strongly recommend it for someone looking for a fairly quiet, yet active campground with plenty of activities (not much in the way of watersports beyond canoe/kayaking on the lochs) and in particular those who enjoy mountain biking and trail hiking in a forest with more in common with those found in the Rockies than anything in the prairies.

This is a large provincial park on the Alberta and Saskatchewan boarder. There are multiple campgrounds, day use areas, beaches, and boat launches. It is located in forested hills with multiple lakes. Each campground has different levels of utilities from no services to full services with power, water, and sewer hookups. We choose Firerock Campground with power only to save some money. This turned out to be a mistake. Our campsite was lakeside, but it was also an open field with no shelter from a windy, stormy night. The shore was muddy and weedy. However, it was only a short walk to the beach, dock, shower house and playground. The shower house had lots of parking, lots of sinks and showers with free hot water. The campsites were level, easy to park the motorhome in but no privacy. We could see other campers in the woods nearby and wished we had camped there out of the wind.

First time going here and had to make last minute bookings. The site we reserved was in Deer Hollow which is a nice campground itself, but our site was in no way private. However, other sites are more private and treed in. Felt a little awkward trying to have conversations knowing your neighbour is right there with nothing separating you. The 1 of 2 outhouses in this campground was absolutely atrocious, I didn't try the other one as it was on the other end. While yes it was clean, the smell was something I've never experienced in my life-like make your eyes and skin burn while you're in there. This could've been because of the long weekend and the pump truck was probably not working but by Wednesday, it was still disgusting. There was also a random dismembered deer leg laying beside it that showed up overnight, which was alarming..

We spent some time at Bald Butte which was breathtaking. I wholeheartedly recommend going there to check it out but be cautious as there are texas gates you have to drive over. 10/10 rating for the Bald Butte viewing area, bonus if you like cows as you will likely drive past lots of them on your way there.

10/10 recommend checking out TreeOSix and going ziplining and the treetop jump! They have other types of activities to try there which we did not have time for but I am sure they are all just as fun. Great people working there!

Go check out Fort Walsh as it was a very informative experience. I recommend you go on the guided tour because they will take you in the buildings and give you in-depth information that you can not otherwise learn/see if you tour the grounds on your own and definitely stop at the tipi and the trading post outside of the fort fence.

Signage and maps a little bit hard to follow. We got lost searching for the showers one afternoon and drove through a campground called Shady Pine where a grown man and 2 others came running after us screaming about how "this is a private campground what the hell are you doing can't you see there are children and dogs here!?" as if we were driving recklessly or something. We tried explaining that we were lost and couldn't find the showers and he wouldn't let us speak so we just rolled up the window on him and drove away while he still yelled at us... this is the cause of my star reduction-get a grip old man.

All in all, this was a great place to go and will definitely return for a longer stay and be more prepared to do other activities like hike the trails and see the Cypress Hills Massacre site. We stayed 2 nights but should've stayed a full week-although due to last minute booking, that was not possible. There is LOTS to do at Cypress Hills. There is a body of water (I don't know if i would consider it a lake? I'm not sure..) but you can rent non-motorized boats at, there's segways to rent, e-bikes, e-scooters, ziplining, hiking, an observatory, horseback riding, icecream, lookout points, amphitheater, Fort Walsh, and Maple Creek.

I have to add, Maple Creek is the cutest little town I've ever visited. You NEED to check out the toy store when you are there, whether you have...

I love Cypress Hills. I've been here with my family every year since I was born and I always look forward to my week here. I've always tented in Deer Hollow, and it's typically very quiet, there aren't any ticks, nor are there any mosquitoes! All of the sites are buried in the trees and it makes for a very beautiful experience. We also camped in Warlodge, which was equally as good.

For activities, there's always a nice amount of things to do. The pool is pretty good, with a large hot tub, the beach is great on a hot day, and the boat rental is run by some extremely friendly people. The golf course is beautiful, the mini golf is a blast, and you can't go wrong getting a giant ice cream cone at either the mini golf concession or Dar's Little Dipper. And of course, Eco-Adventures Zip Line Tours never disappoints! It's always worth stopping in there.

If you're a nature lover, the hiking trails are great, and it's easy to wander around for the majority of a day. If you're into mountain biking, the trails are equally as great for that, and the roads down the main hill are perfect for longboarding!

You really can't go wrong at Cypress, it's really beautiful! Just make sure to take a look online for booking your site as its been pretty busy these...

I went here with a buddy of mine and it was outstanding. This wasn't the first time I had been to the interprovincial park but there was still a first for me. I went about 2 weeks ago and I've been trying to figure out how to word this review so you can really understand. "Lake View Grill" is a restaurant right by the pool and the convince store inside the gates to the interprovincial park. Now when I try new places I'm a little sceptical about what food I get and what drinks I get so I got the most basic. A beer and honey mustard wings. And my friend got a burger of some sort. Let me tell you, the service was outstanding and the food was even better. I even had a bite of my friends burger and it melted the moment it touched my lips. The food tasted like heaven was on their doorstep. When I was leaving because I was on the balcony eating I deliberately walked in to tell them how outstanding the food and service was and they mentioned a review. Welp this is my review. I hope you guys are still as outstanding as you were when I...
