I recently had the pleasure of visiting Glenridge Quarry Naturalization Park and I must say, it's an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped foot in the park, I was enchanted by the lush greenery, tranquil ponds, and diverse wildlife that call this place home.

The trails are well-maintained and offer a perfect blend of easy strolls and more challenging hikes, catering to visitors of all fitness levels. Whether you're an avid birdwatcher, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this park has something for everyone.

One of the highlights for me was the thoughtful integration of educational signs along the trails, providing insights into the local flora, fauna, and the park's history. It's clear that the park's management is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty while also fostering an understanding of the environment.

Moreover, the park's commitment to sustainability and conservation is truly commendable. The efforts to restore the quarry to its natural state are evident, and it's heartwarming to see how the community has rallied around this project.

Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat, a place to connect with nature, or an educational experience for the whole family, Glenridge Quarry Naturalization Park is a must-visit destination. I can't wait to return and explore more of its hidden treasures. Kudos to everyone involved in making this park a true haven for nature...

Nice place!

Paths: They have gravel. Two people can walk side by side. Some parts aren't wheelchair accessible due to erosion of the paths on the hills.

Walk length: It took us just under an hour to walk around the main loop and the lookout over the pond.

Washrooms: Yes, there was one portable toilet close to the children's science area.

Seating/Resting areas: Yes, there were some benches and purposely placed fancy rocks in various locations.

Shade: The paths had a little bit of shade, but they were mostly out in the sun.

Dog friendliness: Yes, people walk their dogs here. They also had a station that dispenses dog waste pick-up bags. The dispenser was empty however.

Educational area: This was quite cool to see. They had various educational boards and art pieces to educate people about different types of weather (lightning, tornadoes, hail, etc). There were also fun tubes for kids to crawl through.

Views: The view of the pond was lovely! They are green pools.

Wildlife: We saw butterflies, snakes (one unusual one), bees, Canadian Geese, fish, etc. See my pic for the unusual snake. We also saw a mini snake, which was about the size of a worm; it also looked quite like one.

Wheelchair accessible: Yes, some of it is wheelchair accessible. Some of the paths were too eroded for a wheelchair to use though.

Parking: Free for 2 hours.

Allergens: There is quite a bit of...

Omg this place is beautiful. This is a great place for an easy hike. The paths are well maintained and are quite extensive so you won’t be stuck to taking the same walk every time you go. The childrens play area isn’t what it used to be but there’s still fun to be had there. I love heading to the pond to see all the fish and it's no busy usually

Park was beautiful both in the fall and early winter. The routes are very manageable and aren’t too step- though some of them are more of a challenge than others. In the winter there weren’t as many people so a lot of space to yourself

But their are ticks... So you need to be prepared for that. I usually get ticks...
