The Summerland museum has great history and let’s you have an immersive experience when you visit. I fondly recall visiting here as a young child in the 80’s & 90’s growing up in Summerland. Going back and bringing my own daughter was a nostalgic trip down memory lane and incredible way for us to learn the history of Summerland and the Okanagan. Although it seemed smaller than I recall as a child, the model train was as cool as I could ever remember!

Free entry but suggested donation to enter. Friendly staff, interesting and informative exhibits including "Stop and Reflect" signs beside panels asking how the framing of the information and stories on the panels connect to the Syilx Okanagan Nations of the area. Very cool model train exhibit on the top floor, accessible by stairs, on the historic railway of the area.

Stopped in to pick up a book recounting some Summerland history that ties back to my childhood in the area. Two very pleasant young women on duty were very helpful locating copies of the book I was looking for. I had read it earlier via the Okanagan Regional Library system, and wanted to gift it to my brother this holiday season. I intend to return and actually browse through their exhibits at a later date, as well as checking out their website....
