Summerland Indian Bistro & Pizza — Restaurant in Summerland

We always have loved our Indian food and always ordered from the places in Penticton, and have never ever been disappointed and we did get it once from here and it was meh, but we figured it had to be better by now, and we were hungry and it was closer, (BAD MISTAKE!) ....this time, it was definitely not ok, in fact, it was actually worse than the last before, even!...We ordered 3 chicken dishes, a rice dish, and ordered all with level 5 spice, and they all came the opposite, almost like the cook was dyslexic, or he added raiti to make it -5 and they were sooo mild it took away any enjoyment, it was so flavorless without the heat we liked....not only that, but one dish had 4 pieces of chicken, one had 5, and the other had 5, so 3+ dollars per piece of chicken cube is much too expensive for the price of the dishes (at least the Penticton restaurants have approx 9 to 10 pieces per dish)....and now the bread, we ordered garlic Naan bread - what we recieved was a hard flat bread that had no bend at all, was hard to bite into, hard as a rock, and it actually snapped in half! ...it had no flavor at all, let alone any garlic, and we didnt even taste any butter on it, even! It showed hardly any yellow, very faint in one or spots, and definitely not any garlic, and if it did, it wasn't enough for us to taste or even see (whenever we have ordered it other places, they had actual minced garlic right on it, and you could see the garlic spice/mince right on it and you can definitely taste it - its also not supposed to snap in half either, js)....this was the worst and most flavorless Indian food we have ever had, and will never order from there again, total waste of money and very disappointing.....the amount of food was very little for the amount we paid, (lots of sauce but very few cubes of meat, kess than 5 per dish, which is a rip-off - in our meal, that is - so the big containers and sauce look deceiving until you actually dish up your plates from it - so be aware)...if you aren't sure, don't order from here, and order from the Penticton places instead, they are definitely way more worth the money and are fabulous in taste and make you order exactly as ordered, and have never ever been disappointed, they have always been...

My son and I had a wonderful lunch today at this bistro. Cauliflower Wings and Chili Chicken. Friendly service and really tasty meal. The vegetables tasted just roasted and chili heat was flavorful and just as I requested. My first visit and it was spontaneously chosen. No regrets. I can easily recommend others will have the same experience I did. Lots of parking at the park behind the bistro and Summerland looks beautiful today.

August 2024. My son and I returned to visit this bistro again, it's his birthday and he chose Summerland Indian Bistro & Pizza. Today we had chili chicken and vegetable biriyani - Wow! Perfect amount of heat, and flavours were so fresh. This restaurant would have a line up around the block in Toronto or Vancouver but Summerland has it! The owner was very friendly and I took a peek at a pizza she had just taken out of the oven and if I weren't already full I would have been unable to resist. Thank you to the owner for a lovely meal. It was memorable and delicious.

August 26. My wife and I were visiting Summerland today and we ordered two pizzas, had a tasty lunch and brought one home. One pizza was a taco pizza and it was fresh and the ingredients and flavour were excellent. The second pizza was a paneer cheese and it was delicious. Lots of flavour and fresh ingredients but not overly spicy. My wife is a great cook and noticed the ingredients and flavours commenting how tasty everything was. 5 ⭐️ we could not decide a favourite...

Extremely disappointing experience. Excited about a new restaurant opening in the area and was let down to say the least. Palak paneer was absolute mush, the chicken was over cooked and the cauliflower was over breaded. Called regarding the paneer and was told “they didn’t have the correct paneer for the dish” , I told them I would have liked to know prior to ordering so I could have possibly picked something else. I was told “sorry that’s all we had” and “it’s basically the same” - Not a proper response considering it’s absolutely not is what advertised on their website and not what the dish is supposed to be like. We will not be ordering...
