Baywalk Boardwalk — Attraction in Summerside

The Summerside Boardwalk is a delightful destination that I had the pleasure of exploring recently. It offers a charming blend of leisure and scenic beauty that's hard to beat.

Strolling along the boardwalk, I was immediately struck by the picturesque views of the surrounding area. The tranquil waters, dotted with sailboats and the occasional paddleboarder, create a serene backdrop that's perfect for a leisurely walk.

The boardwalk itself is well-maintained and features a variety of benches and seating areas where you can pause and take in the scenery. I appreciated the thoughtful touches like well-placed trash bins and pet-friendly amenities.

One of the highlights for me was the local vendors and food stalls that line the boardwalk. From fresh seafood (Go Fish Eatery) to homemade ice cream, (Sunny’s), there's a range of tasty treats to indulge in. It's a great place to savor the flavors of Summerside.

While it may not have the bustling amusements of some larger boardwalks, the Summerside Boardwalk makes up for it with its serene ambiance and the opportunity to unwind by the water's edge. A very nice easy 6.6km (4 miles) walk along the bay in Summerside starting from the harbor. Well maintained and clean with separate paths for walkers and bicyclists. There are picnic tables and lookouts along the path. Look for bird houses affixed to the trees along the path.

Took a special trip to Summerside for the boardwalk, and it was nice, but nothing terribly exciting. The boardwalk was lovely, and it's right along the water... it even has a small lighthouse along the way. We walked it when it was sunny and 24 degrees, so weather was not an issue. There was lots of seating areas, pavilions, benches, and garbage cans along the way. Overall it was nice, but not something I'd make a specific trip for.
