Smell: Strong fishy smell. Unpleasant, and not what I expect from quality sushi.
Appearance: It looks like something similar to, but not necessarily sushi. Fish lacks color, and is not visually appealing. Fish was ripped, or torn with visible gaps on top of the rice.
Texture: Fish was very mushy, soft, slimy, and quite warm.
Rice: Pasty, no taste, but edible.
Menu: Mostly text, bring your phone if you don’t know what something is. You can try your luck with asking the servers but then they are tied up showing the items on their tablet.
We ordered the 52 piece set, you get rolls, some of which have just a piece of cucumber in it. The menu states what kind of rolls you will get, so there is no problem there. However, the nigiri is listed as an assortment, you don’t get to choose, and you will not get any of the good stuff. Expect crab sticks, egg, and shrimp. If you want much fish, order those separately.
You may get more variety in the larger combos, but if you want something specific, just order that. I got the mixed set because I was unsure if anyone would even eat more than one piece if they didn’t like it (2 were children). The lack of menu item photos was a hurdle for everyone who had never had sushi before. The rest looked ok but had the quality issues listed above.
If you’re looking for similar sushi, also at a lower price, you might want to try grocery store sushi instead. It’s more affordable and better than what was served here. Otherwise, I recommend saving your money to go to a different restaurant that offers better quality.
I brought 4 people to try sushi for the first time, I don’t think any of them will try it again. When the sushi is good, and you don’t like it then you may just not like it. But if the sushi is not good, and you don’t like it you may be turned off of it forever when you may have otherwise enjoyed it.
We paid, and left most of the sushi on the table. They seemed to take issue with the fact that I did not want to take it home, and after reading the replies from the restaurant on the reviews saying that customers who waste food are not welcome in any restaurant completely put me off from coming back. If the sushi was not as described above, it would not be left to waste (in our case).
That being said, I believe those were in response to people talking about being charged for pieces that they did not eat that ordered the “all you can eat” sushi. I agree with the restaurant here because they have to prepare, and serve the food unlike the usual all you can eat buffet where you just grab what you want, it would be costly to have customers over order and not eat it but I take issue with the tone of the comments about customers not being welcome in any restaurant for wasting food, especially if they feel it isn’t good enough to consume.
I would have liked to come back and see if this was a one-off experience, but I feel unwelcome now after reading those comments.
I absolutely love sushi, and would eat it all day, every day if I could. Just not here with the current state of the food. I’ve eaten at many sushi places over the world, and while I am no sushi expert by any means, I know what I like, and this just gave me fears of being sick if I ate it.
I would like to see the quality of the food improve, and success for this restaurant because the more sushi that is around the better. It seems like it would be a good budget friendly, casual sushi experience with just a few tweaks to the quality and presentation...
Read moreDO NOT COME HERE!! ITS AWFUL!! WHO EVER SEE THIS COMMENT, PLZ GO ON AND READ IT. This restaurant is the worst I've been to, but I can't give 0 stars so I just give 1 star to this BAD RESTAURANT. My friends and I saw the newly opened Japanese food store here, and we wanted to come and try it with great joy. But this restaurant is disappointing me and my friends. We are just like the usual buffet, order one round first, if not enough, order a little more food. But maybe a male clerk thought we were eating too much and started staring at us and threatening us when we ordered the second round, he keeps saying that you have to pay if you can't eat. I don't think this attitude is right. By the end we were left with only one dumpling and one roll, however, the woman keeps saying we have to eat it all, otherwise we will have to pay for it with couple dollars. This is ridiculous, I cannot believe this happened in a buffet restaurant. Anyway, my father called me to finish the dumpling and the roll so I finished it. We all hoping to not argue with others. Unfortunately, it happened. You won't believe what they did to my friends. The waiter came over and started taking photos of us. Bro, what's the problem of him? Even I'm not an adult, but I know that's not how its works. I stared in disbelieve. The woman yelled to us, she said this is her restaurant, she can do what she want. Bro, what's the problem of her?? I mean what's the problem of this restaurant? One of my friend also took a video about the woman yell at us. BUT! The women rush over and robbedy friend's phone. She's in a bad mood, am I right? I "won't" tell you that their food quality are very bad, the rice don't even cooked. It tasted really awful. Their service is really bad, I ordered ice cream and waited half an hour. Also! They use their own language keep saying that our morals are bad. Luckily, I understand what they said about us. So there are more mistakes of them I can talk about here. I won't introduce this worst restaurant to my friends. Who ever considering to come, please look all of those bad comments. These are really happened. I think those good comments are fake, maybe this restaurant pay to buy good comments and trying to cover our bad comments. Anyway, DO NOT COME HERE. I HOPE THEY WILL COLLAPSE AS SOON AS...
Read moreTL;DR - Bad service, poor quality of food, staff arguing in dinning room, dirty table, server kept lowering mask to talk, asked multiple times for water decided to get it ourselves after 40m of waiting, server was bad mouthing co-worker to customers. Some of this would be excused, but we were 1 of 3 tables, 1 of which left soon after we arrived.
At first we understood that 'all you can eat' is usually a lower quality than 'a la carte', but after witnessing the complete lack of competency in service as well as staff arguing in the dining area in front of guests, we completely lost our appetite and couldn't excuse the quality we were served. From the ratio of rice to fish in the nigiri, it was clear that they want to fill you up on rice, and the rice itself wasn't even good. We were taking half bites of rice and leaving the other half in the plate. I'm not sure if the server was new, but they did not seem to have ever worked in the service industry before. Anytime they would talk to us, the server would pull their mask down. Also, there was no soya sauce or utensils at the table, which wasn't even cleaned properly. We asked for water several times before I had to get up and ask at the counter. The server took plates of food away before we were finished eating them, and then we were told "You know...There's a fee for any left over food." (They had stacked the plate on top of food, which is when I told them we were still eating. They removed the dirty plate and put the food back down. Who wants to eat food that's touched dirty dishes?? I told our server to just take it away and was met with the fee explanation). The phone kept ringing and being ignored, causing the public arguing between staff. I felt bad for the staff member who lost their cool due to the other's incompetence, but it should not be aired out in front of customers. We finally lost our appetite when the server came to apologize on the OTHER'S behalf saying "I'm so sorry for the way they're acting." To be honest, I don't blame the other staff for how they reacted, I couldn't believe that the server felt the need to bad mouth their co-workers to customers.
We will not be coming back, we will not recommend this to friends. Unless they do a 180, I would stay away and go...
