This mining region is where a great amount of the wealth produced in Canada has come from on the backs of many Canadians, including new immigrants. Think about this with all the massive squandering of wealth by greedy politicians. We found it refreshing not having to deal with propaganda and ideological agendas in the display writeups.

Read moreOver all this is a nice little museum, it has 2 rooms of exhibits. One room was all local art and all of it was amazing, the other room had lots of neat exhibits and we learned lots! They also have a lovely gift shop with local made items. I love the way they support the community. At the front entrance there is a bucket of free samples of drilled core, we missed it on the way in and almost missed it on the way out, the kids loved being able to pick a 'special rock'.
