1st and last time I used that branch!! On February the 28th, I had an appointment with a business partner at the TD branch located at the corner of Bathurst and Lawrence Ave. in order to close a business account which we had opened for a business with property that we recently sold. While there, I decided to deposit a cheque received from a family member into my personal account. Since the name I use daily and for my business is the short version of my name, SIA vs SIAVASH, the cheque was issued under that name, same as 90% of the cheques that I receive annually. I was being served by a very young lady and for the very first time I was told the cheque could not be deposited into my account because the full version of my name is not used on it. I explained to her that it’s over 20 years that my income cheques are issued to the same name as well as many other cheques that I receive and if she doesn’t know how to do it, she can ask her manager. She called her manager by the name of ELAHA ADIB, who also was a very young and evidently inexperienced, not mentioning very arrogant lady. She repeated the same thing as the teller and when I said I never faced such treatment in any other branch when depositing a cheque, she said they all made a mistake and shouldn’t have deposited the cheques that are having the short version of my name. I said sarcastically; so, everyone else in every branch was making a mistake but her. I realized talking to her is nothing but waste of time and while asking for my cheque back, I pointed out that a manager’s job is to facilitate the services that are supposed to be provided not to cause problems. I wanted to leave it till late afternoon when I go home and go to my regular branch but I thought I should go to another branch nearby and try them. I did that and the teller at that branch simply deposited the cheque after having a short chat with her manager. I found having managers like Ms. ELAHA ADIB could be a disgrace for any professional organization and she needs to be trained about the true responsibilities of a manager. To those staff and/or managers who think they are placed at their positions just to implement the policies of their organizations, I should say that if that was true, the organizations would use robots instead of human beings since robots could perform a much better job in implementing the policies. They hire and train human beings, hoping they could use their brain and analyze each case based on its merits and provide the best possible service to...
Read moreYes, it's a bank with horrible service. BUT, I live across the street from this branch of the TD bank. I could switch to the Scotia bank at the other end of that strip, but they are beside the road, and that makes them vulnerable to being robbed. I'm disabled due to a lifetime of bad knees (not properly aligned) and too many knee injuries of too many types for too many reasons, and I can no longer do the things that I want to do. And yes, I could switch to the Bank of Commerce in the middle of the big strip thats also a part of Lawrence Plaza, but it's too far of a walk if I just want to get some cash. WheelTrans, the local paratransit service (it's a part of the TTC, Toronto Transit Commission) only picks up / drops off at the TD and the Metro (grocery store) across the street from me. That's a great help when I want / need to get to Lawrence Square for any reason, including going to the Fortinos there. They have a broader selection of EVERYTHING than does the Metro near me and it's cleaner so well. The floors get swept and mopped with greater frequency than at that Metro, and the customer service is better. That includes the fact they they have a sushi bar in the store and it operates independently from the store itself. Even the coffee bar within that Fortinos offers better quality coffee than I can get from the coffee bar in the Metro at Lawrence Plaza, plus the pastries hist they offer are also an improvement over the ones at the Metro near me. Overall, I agree with most of the respondents whose opinions I read - it's not as good a bank as...
Read moreI love this branch. It's a brand that I have used for a very long time. However, recently I find that their customer service is lacking. This Branch customer service need much improvement. I don't know who is the manager but I feel like sometimes they're pushing you out instead of inviting you in. Example on Saturday I understand the branch closed at 4pm however at 3:50pm they basically start stopping people from coming into the branch and they're complaining that we are coming too late to the bank. In my opinion if the bank said it closed at 4:00 then that's the time it's closed. You cannot start closing at 3:50- 10 minutes to 4:00 and complain to your customers that they're late. I'd rather go to the bank at Bathurst and Wilson. However Bathurst and Lawrence is more convenient for me. I don't know if the young lady is the manager she needs to be trained on customer service. I don't like the way she brush people off and if you're doing business with me, do business with me sit talk to me give me eye contact don't be all over the place and leave me there wondering what I should do. I'm sorry for making this post but it's very annoying last Saturday. I am happy for those that receive great customer service but I have spoken to three other people who had the same experience. For a bank they need to improve...
