The West Rouge Conservation Area includes on one side, the Rouge River where it flows into Lake Ontario (on the other side of a train Tressel.) There's also a pedestrian crossing to the east side of the river which is in Pickering. It's an interesting and busy place. Swim in the water? Eat the fish? When there's a warning to not swim in the lake it can be due to too much fecal matter in the water, from geese or from the "water treatment plant" nearby. Some people, regardless of health officials, will eat the fish and swim when they feel like it. People have also jumped off the bridge and some people have not survived doing so.
