I recently hiked the Two Rivers Trail at the end of June and absolutely loved it! This well‑marked 2.1 km loop offers a moderate climb through mixed forest terrain that takes about an hour or less, depending on your pace .
The highlight A stunning rocky lookout perched atop a pine‑covered cliff, offering sweeping views across the park's rolling hills and waterways . I reached the lookout about halfway through and spent a peaceful few minutes taking it all in—definitely worth the climb!
The trailhead parking lot is spacious and convenient (fits around 20+ cars), right off Highway 60 at km 31. Note: a park day-pass is required unless you're already staying in the park .
Trail conditions are generally easy to follow, with some roots and rocky sections—especially on the way back. It's a well-maintained moderate hike with enough challenge to feel rewarding without being too strenuous .
A heads-up if you're visiting in May or June: the mosquitoes can be relentless, so bring bug spray or a net—I learned that the hard way!
Pros: Beautiful, accessible lookout with panoramic views
Manageable moderate climb—perfect for families or solo hikers
Ample parking and clear trail signage
Cons: Expect mosquitoes in late spring/early summer
Requires a day‑use pass unless camping in the park
Overall, a gem for a quick, scenic outing in Algonquin—highly recommend it, especially during summer (with bug...
Read moreThis is a relatively difficult trail with a marvellous lookout point at the end. It took us around 2 hours to reach the lookout point. We didn’t expect it to be that long so we kept asking people that were coming back about how far we should still go. At one point, we wanted to return and I’m super glad we didn’t. The trail itself is very beautiful. It goes through rivers and bridges and wider pathways and tense woods and doesn’t get boring at all. The trees had started changing colours which made it way more beautiful. Eventually when you get to the lookout point, you get mesmerized and you feel lucky that you made it. We spent 45 minutes enjoying the view and recovering and felt so wonderful that the returning path wasn’t...

This trail was unique and beautiful but it was very damp after about 1 km and we had forgotten our hiking shoes thus, we returned back as we weren’t prepared to step onto very damp and wet trail. Since the trail was damp it was adding cushioning effect for hikers and we explored multiple types of colourful mushrooms through the trail. August...
