Easy parking locations along NW Marine Drive Road and we parked in the very available Trimble Street Parking Lot on Locarno Beach location..there are wide open vistas in every direction, especially viewing the North Shore Mountains and Downtown Vancouver..today was special as it was New Years Day 2022..ankle deep snow was everywhere…we were among the many individuals enjoying this very vibrant January 1, 2022 day..some young and energetic individuals were enjoying the Polar Bear Swim yearly event…I remember the acceleration I felt in this swim many years ago as I reached the very cold water and retreated a towel and warm clothing..

Great beach, lots of sand and it spreads out as you keep walking. Less crowded than Kits Beach. Wonderful pathway, lots of people walking, jogging, and biking. There are 2 concession stands here serving pub style food, cold drinks, and ice cream. There is a pilot alcohol program in place in some areas, signs are clear. Lots of bunnies around here in April and May! Many signs requesting not to feed the bunnies. Many parking stalls available, usually you can find a spot even in peak summer. Pay parking in effect most hours of the day.

Great views of the North Shore Mountains, West Vancouver, English Bay, and downtown. Tucked in between Jericho Beach and Spanish Banks, Locarno has plenty of green space for family picnics, lawn games, and lounging in the sun or shade. Not a big parking area but plenty of street parking nearby. The shared cycle/walking path is a problem when some cyclists speed along like it’s a commuter’s priority lane. I hope folks could slow down and respect the spirit that is intended with a shared beach pathway.

As a local in Vancouver, I have to say that Locarno Beach is one of my favorite spots to visit. With its long sandy shoreline and clear waters, it's a popular destination for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. The beach also offers amazing views of the city and the North Shore mountains, and the sunsets are simply fantastic. I've been to the beach several times and the convenient location and ample parking always make for an easy and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend checking out Locarno Beach for anyone looking for a beautiful beach day in Vancouver, especially...
