Enjoyed the visit. It's free and you need to get a ticket from the counter by showing your passport. Locals enter using their national ID card. Upon entering, it's 5 levels of exhibition halls. It's a lot to take in and you can spend half the day or more here to view the interesting displays. We missed their seasonal exhibitions with different themes each time. Looks really good.

The curators, artisans and staff take great pride in their work. Their attention to detail is amazing. Look at the miniature diorama they set up of silk trading alley. Amazingly detailed. You can make out what vegetables are being sold, you can make out the art scrolls being sold by the vendor and you can even count the individual mulberry leaves in the bamboo trays, usually used to house and feed the silk worms 🐛🐛🐛. You can even tell what they having for a meal at the restaurant table. Take the time to read the information cards. It's enlightening. So many similarities between the cultures of ancient Egypt and Chengdu China, like for example the funerary ⚰️📿 traditions and beliefs. The ceramics and porcelains are astounding too.

Plus lots of souvenirs to buy. You have been...

Going early is a must! Because the Museum entrance is free it often attracts crazy amounts of people. The Museum opens at 9 although sometimes it will allow people in earlier, you need to take your passport along to the ticket office for your free ticket BEFORE queuing in line. The museum has numerous exhibition halls with a wide variety of things to see and also offers a shadow puppet show at 10:30 and one in the afternoon, which is pretty cool to see as this is an old traditional Chinese...

Admission is free, but the museum guide is only available in Chinese. If you don’t speak the language, consider hiring a private guide or bringing a friend who does to make the most...

Free entrance - you need to show your passport. 3 floors dedicated to Chinese history with some amazing objects. Worth it if you are into history. Audio guide for rent at 40 RMD. A small tea house on the 6th floor to relax. Went on the weekend and it was crowded.
