Enjoyed the visit. It's free and you need to get a ticket from the counter by showing your passport. Locals enter using their national ID card. Upon entering, it's 5 levels of exhibition halls. It's a lot to take in and you can spend half the day or more here to view the interesting displays. We missed their seasonal exhibitions with different themes each time. Looks really good.
The curators, artisans and staff take great pride in their work. Their attention to detail is amazing. Look at the miniature diorama they set up of silk trading alley. Amazingly detailed. You can make out what vegetables are being sold, you can make out the art scrolls being sold by the vendor and you can even count the individual mulberry leaves in the bamboo trays, usually used to house and feed the silk worms 🐛🐛🐛. You can even tell what they having for a meal at the restaurant table. Take the time to read the information cards. It's enlightening. So many similarities between the cultures of ancient Egypt and Chengdu China, like for example the funerary ⚰️📿 traditions and beliefs. The ceramics and porcelains are astounding too.
