Zhejiang Hotel （Northwest Gate） — Attraction in Hangzhou City

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights around the Mid-Autumn Festival so there were a lot of Chinese tourists when we were there. Given the volume of tourists I was very happy that our hotel was a bit out of the way of the traffic/people found around the West Lake hot spot. I say out of the way but West Lake is only a 15 minute walk from the hotel which was fine for us. The staff at the front desk speak English well which made check in, getting taxis, and asking for room service quite easy; the staff providing room service did not know any English, but with a bit of gesturing getting your request across is easy enough. The room itself was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Can't comment much on the dining area on the second floor other than the buffet breakfasts they offered had a great variety that had both hot and cold options and the waiters were discrete and friendly. Luxury hotel/resort near Maojiabu lake. Surrounded by the forest, it would be an ideal location for honeymoon or any special occasion for the couples.||Rooms were clean and quiet. The room balcony was spacious and the view was amazing. Service was very good and hotel staff were friendly. The only problem is that EVERYTHING is in Chinese, that includes all TV channels, information booklet, and even the TV remote control! Our family of three stayed there for 2 nights in April which was the high season. The room was very clean and spacious and comfortable. The family room was decorated for young girls with Hello Kitty duvet cover and stickers on the wall which my 10 year old boy found upsetting. It was very easy to call the room service to change the duvet cover. The buffet breakfast was nice with selections of western and Chinese food. We had dinner at the restaurant at the back.
