On a beautiful day, coming up to this place is a blessing. There are plaques set up to tell you about the Fort. The view here to cheung kwan o is nice. Plenty of photo opportunities. Great place for exercise also. A truly historical place.

A nice and tranquil space even on the weekends, whimsical but safe pseudo-forest trails to and fro. 10 minutes from my home in Chai Wan and I can't ask for better.

Lei Yue Mun Park From Chai Wan road , Chai Wan North Fresh Water Reservoir Recreation ground near the Pamela Hospital Laundry site , I walked up North 400 m of a sloppy dirt road , the Lei Yu Mun Park was seen. This was a very nicely build park with covered areas from the former Sai Wan Battery. Further up 400 meters , I arrived at the Chai Wan North Number 2 Fresh water reservoir. This point gave a good view of the Heng Fa Chuen and the Junk Bay and turning , facing South, there was the view of all of Chai Wan District , half-encircled by the Chai Wan Road. Located at 180m on a small hill and therefore requires 30 min uphill offroad hike. It offers a good view of Shau Kei Wan. There is a radio station there, so it is quite clamped. Can still see the battery site but there is not much to see

小小一座西湾山，被鲤鱼门渡假村占去大半。奇怪的是由康文署经营，难道政府部门还要营利？还好没有占尽，留有一条晨运径给公众使用。委委屈屈地走在渡假村的铁网边的小径，看着网内的大条马路而不得使用。半小时上来山顶。这里同时是西湾炮台旧址，立着很多介绍牌和锁上门的旧营舍。山脚是杏花村的白色旧楼，隔海对望日出康城的新式豪宅。柴湾货仓象一只白色的鞋盒，旁边是新巴的多层车场，十几辆巴士整齐地停在楼顶平台，象是模型玩具。突然想起，此处倒是一个追风观浪的好地方，整个东方没遮没拦，又有一个粉红玻璃檐的大亭子可供避雨。只是不知能否经起强台风的考验。 原路退回柴湾道，下行转入阿公岩道，中途穿过华明大厦，经电梯下来就到了筲箕湾电车总站。
