It’s my first time being asked to eat either in the kitchen or beside the dumpster. We booked with the restaurant days ago, but when we arrived there, we were assigned by a very unfriendly guy (who was then called “boss” by the waitress lady) to sit in the kitchen, where the soup and vegetables were just 1 meter beside us. I request to eat on a proper table, and then we were taken to a small table outside the restaurant, and beside a huge dumpster. A guy was spitting at the dumpster when we were taken there.
Even I had no expectations for the eating environment, I am still shocked by them for making such sitting an acceptable choice. Given a clean sitting is not ensured, what will they do to their food? I can’t imagine.
Over the whole process of communication with the restaurant, we tried to speak with respect (in Cantonese) but the “boss” was very rude, keeping saying something like “you have no choice”, “that’s all I can do”. There were quite a few proper tables shared by 2 guests, either occupied already or empty. When I asked why we can’t sit there, the “boss” shouted to us that “those tables were reserved”. Fun fact, we made reservation as well.
We ended up eating somewhere else. Will not come again. Don’t...
Read moreJun 23: local Hong Kong style restaurant. Inside a factory building but close to MTR station (walk along the street about 6-7 mins).
The food is good, service is good, but the place is not clean as well as the toilet. You better go to the public toilet nearby (near Minibus station).
We ordered many dishes, some of the dishes only available when you placed order in advance. For example the fried chicken skin with cucumber and chicken shreds. Shrimp toasts. Hotpot with fried rice. I recommended the tea which are homemade and tasty. I bought passion fruit tea, it was the last one. Fish is fresh, no stinky smell. We should only ordered half portion of steamed chicken. Too full for tonight.
Price is comparatively high, but CP is high eight such good quality. We reserved a table for 12 two weeks in advance. Reservation is must. No parking . I found customers parked their car in the street. When the waiter shouted “Policeman came!” Everyone went out and drove away their cars and came back...
Read moreThe only consideration of this kind of local HK restaurant is the quality of food, not fine dining atmosphere or service; yet, the staff were super helpful. The amount and turn over of customers well explained the quality of food. We were clever enough to make reservation! All popular HK dishes were well made, and the signature 鴛鴦鳳皮甲 is a must-try. Basically, it is prawn paste wrapped in chicken skin, served together with chicken and shredded cucumber in...
