If you are looking for an amazing place to visit without spending any money, Hong Kong Park is for you!
There are a myriad of things to do in Hong Kong Park. Here is how I’d plan your journey!
First, we can start off at The Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, where you can see a variety of tea ware. Some are rather funny because they are in weird and abstract shapes, while others are immensely beautiful.
Afterwards, you take a few steps and will be dazzled by a large pond with many turtles swimming or sleeping cutely everywhere. The pond also has many colorful carp, but I prefer the turtles.
At the back of the pond, you will see a mesmerizing waterfall, which you can even walk through. The feeling you get when you are inside a waterfall cannot be matched.
After you walk up the waterfall, you will come into a botanical garden, which I highly recommend you visit.
After you finish looking at the garden, you can just walk a little upwards, and you will be able to see an aviary. Once you go inside, you are sure to have a blast spotting all the different types of birds with such eye-capturing colors.
This is the end of my little tour of Hong Kong Park. There are other things to be discovered but I find them less interesting than those I’ve mentioned.
After you’re done with your tour at Hong Kong Park, I highly suggest checking out the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, which is just a few minutes' walk from Hong Kong Park.
I hope you’ll enjoy your trip to...
Read moreHong Kong Park was exactly what I needed—a quiet, green escape right in the middle of the city. With all the noise and movement around Central, I honestly didn’t expect to find a space this peaceful. The second I walked in, it felt like the energy shifted. There were trees, waterfalls, koi ponds, and little walking paths that made me slow down and just breathe.
One of the best parts was the aviary. I wasn’t expecting to spend much time there, but once inside, it felt like I was in a rainforest. Birds were flying freely all around, and you could hear the sounds of nature echoing above the city noise. It really made me stop and take in how much life exists even in a place like Hong Kong.
The park is surprisingly big—you can explore gardens, a conservatory filled with tropical plants, a tea museum in an old colonial building, and little sitting areas tucked away in quiet corners. I took my time, walked slow, and just enjoyed being surrounded by greenery for a bit. It’s the kind of place that reminds you to pause.
What I loved: – The contrast of nature against the skyline—surreal but beautiful – The aviary and how immersive it felt – It was free, easy to get to, and didn’t feel overly touristy – A perfect reset if you’re looking for peace while in the city
If you’re in Hong Kong and need a break from the rush, this park is 100% worth the visit. I went in with no expectations and left feeling grounded...
Read moreThis park is a hidden gem in Hong Kong. I often surprised how few people know this park even exists! If you're looking for a quick getaway from all the hustle and bustle of the city, this is your destination.
The park is massive and I personally find it much more beautiful than its counterpart, the Kowloon park across the harbor. If this park was any larger, I'm sure it would be competing for the top parks globally. Watch out Central Park!
This park contains an aviary and conservatory for exotic birds and plants from around the world. Our kids love visiting the aviary and they refuse to leave the fully equipped playground set once they start monkeying around.
The park is usually not so busy, compared to the rest of Hong Kong, and is a perfect place for a evening stroll with the family. I'm unsure about the dog policies here, but we've walked our dog here multiple times and...
