Mandarin Oriental has been our favourite go-to hotel in Hong Kong for a variety of reasons from location to ease of public transport but over and above all is the level of service. The standard of service has always been an unchanging trait of the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Unfortunately, our visits to Hong Kong were disrupted for several years, largely thanks to Covid restrictions. However things are returning to normal and when we did return recently Sharon Zhang, Guest Relations, and Coco, Mandarin Club Lounge, and front of house teams gave us such a warm welcome and we felt so at home again. We were booked into a suite which suits our lifestyle in being large enough for personal space yet not too large and impersonal. Well appointed and always the welcoming touch of fresh flowers, fruit bowl and the like. Room service, from turn down to laundry to refreshment ordering, is so quick and efficient and they remember your personal likes and requirements!! The Mandarin Club upstairs with its superb views is very special. From breakfast through high tea, drinks and snacks it is a refuge for quiet relaxation and work. There is enough life and activity in the lounge to take off the edge of isolation with minimal invasion of privacy. Here Coco and Pinky and Aidi looked after us in so friendly a way, always remembering our personal likes, with Arcmond and Fernando always appearing the moment we needed anything. Such a happy lounge. We happen to have a soft spot for Cafe Causette, having patronized it for so many years. The staff, almost family now, are so attentive and the meals always of same high standard. Really appreciate that, being away from home so often. The restaurant manager, Jacky Wong, is really hands on and it shows in the smooth and seemingly effortless service standards of Cate Causette. They are ably assisted by Joanna, Vicky, Vera, Janice, Jamie and Jacky who tirelessly look after our many needs. Chef Robin Zavou is not only very friendly but always so obliging in doing ‘off menu’ items when he can. The sheer number of guests choosing Cafe Causette surely attests to its quality and standards. Mandarin Oriental has such friendly staff always trying to make your stay a pleasure and you are always assured of a warm greeting whether passing in passages to boarding lifts. I was not going to mention staff by name, as there will always be omissions, but relented. My sincere apologies to those unnamed, but I assure you, your friendliness and services rendered are not forgotten. Will be returning to MO on Sunday for just short of a week and so looking forward to it.
