The main dam of the reservoir is called the Gorge Dam situated at the southern end of the reservoir. It incorporates several technological advances which were not used in precious dams. The dam consists of reinforced concrete diaphragm wall, a concrete thrust block, an absorbent sand wedge and rock fill on the downstream side. Scenery is fair, and many trails have overhung vegetation for shade (needle hill excluded). Easier sections will be more crowded during weekends and holidays.

You could walk up but it will take quite a while (20 minutes) to get up there from the nearest bus stop. There seems to be a way to drive up so that may make more sense.
