Siu Ma Shan This is part of the Mt parker hill tops connecting to two big districts, namely the North Eastern part of HK Island and on the opposite slope, at the South Western side of the Tai Tam Reservoir, Stanley Area. To go to this Hill top at 438M, there are several routes. The most strenuous but obvious one is from the starting point at the Mt Butler Road, Jardine Lookout ending at Mt Parker Road at Quarry Bay , total 13.86 KM, taking 5-1/2 hours, a bit on the slow side. At certain point of the Quarry Bay Jogging Trail, about 750M from the distance Post W016, there is a steep staircase uphill which continues for about 200 meters. That’s the strenuous part, but it did give a good panorama view of the whole HK Island and the Kowloon peninsula. Some picture shots will show this. It is a good training and rewarding hike. One of my favorite short hikes in Hong Kong. Great view over the front of the Island across to Lantau or the old Kai Tek Airport. Looking South you have a lovely view towards Parkview or Redhill. A lot of options as you come off the trail heading away from the Radio Station: continue south towards Mount Parker and Da Fong Au or West toward Jardine’s Lookout and either Mount Butler Road or Parkview/Violet Hill and The Twins.

It is my most favorite trail running spot, away from the pollution but yet close enough to home. It offer a complete fresh angle of view to the Victoria harbour compare to The Peak. keep walking towards South for a couple minutes will see Tai Tam and Stanley.

If u take the stairs option up from the wet market near the tree trail (before it) , it is a killer, make sure you don't go during summer or u may faint, it was one of my first hikes in hk and there is no shelter from the sun for hundreds of stairs! Hardly an easy hike as others may have taken a...
