Temple Hill Fat Jong Temple — Attraction in Hong Kong

I honestly don't know if this place is even open to the public. I gave it 5 stars because of the cool location; it's the last building you see if you hike up Sha Tin Pass Road, which takes you up into Lion Rock Country Park. I walk past the Temple at least two or three times a week and they've spruced it up a bit in the last year with a paint job, etc. It looks quite majestic. It's always struck me as a working temple and not open for people to just wander in. Anyway, you can hike up this road for access to Lion Rock, Kowloon Peak and the whole mountain range. 慈雲山法藏寺是香港著名的佛寺，紅柱白牆、黃瓦飛簷，倚山而建，該寺最大特色是一對鐵門髹上紅色的漆油，門外有鐵板，上寫「法藏寺」三個大字，它的位置在登飛鵝嶺的一條汽車小路的入口處。停車場入口兩旁飾有兩幅佛像浮雕壁畫，分別是皈依佛與彌勒佛，牆上的大招牌亦是佛像浮雕畫，內容是佛祖在菩提樹下講經說法，五名弟子專心聽道。 進入法藏寺大門，要經過長廊，然後才到寺內的大殿。 法藏寺為三進式的結構，最前是哼哈殿，內有哼哈二將塑像，像高十呎。 第二進是天王殿，殿內供奉彌勒佛、韋馱菩薩、藥師佛及四大天王。 拾級再上是大雄寶殿，殿內供奉西方三聖；兩旁則是十八羅漢像。大殿的左邊是觀音殿，右邊是伽藍殿。東西兩廊建築分別是辦事處、祖堂、宗正堂、功德堂及齋堂。 每年四月初八浴佛節，法藏寺都吸引許多港九善信到來參禪，自晨早六時起即絡繹不絕。寺內的齋菜，亦頗有名，很多善信都欣賞寺內香積廚巧手泡製的素菜。由於法藏寺鄰近沙田坳村、慈雲山村，街坊善信常到寺中拜佛參禪，香火鼎盛，每年有清明及盂蘭兩次法會。而寺內接辦大小功德佛事，設有先人靈位，因交通方便，故人流不絕。 根據佛經所載，佛法內藏有無可限量的德性，故名「法藏」，《無量壽經》有一句云：「行使方便，入佛法藏，覺登彼岸。」意思就是說，佛祖的佛法，深藏萬般真理，我們能夠進入佛法裏面去，接受佛法所藏的真理，就可以到達彼岸，這是此間寺廟為法藏寺的原因之一。 另外有一位唐朝的法藏大師，由康居國進入唐朝京城長安(即之西安)，當時武則天對他極為尊敬，請他到宮廷內講述華嚴經。他在講經的時候，忽然口中吐出一道白光，這道白光在他的頭上繞了一圈，武則天知他是有道的高僧，賜他一個封號，名為「賢首」，所以又稱「賢首法藏大師」。 關於這位大師的故事很多，其中一個，說他在殿上指著殿階前一對金獅子說法，武則天看到這金獅子栩栩如生，大為驚服。...
