This is beautiful park in the heart of Xujiahui. It is very well maintained, like every park in Shanghai, but late spring and summer are my favourite times to visit. You can forget you're in the middle of the city when you're in this park. There are many trees, flowers, a lot of things for the children to see and explore, and a playground and several little waterfalls, too.

While never claustrophobically crowded, it is alive with people doing everything from Tai Chi to impromptu Mozart concerts, from children playing in the "Squirrel Wonderland" to grannies dancing to be-bop jazz, from teens carefully courting to trying to get the best photo of the many feral cats in the park. There are some carps in the greenish pond which sometimes gets so overpopulated that Park officers has to snatch off a few of them into a large tank to be escorted to another pond.
In comparison, the ducks and geese doesn't seem to have population issues...
