This hotel is not a bad place, but certainly not to international standards. I selected it because I speak only English and didn't want a communication problem. As well, I know that hotels that may sometimes be up to local Chinese standards are not that pleasant.||||Both problems arose here. The staff has great difficulty communicating in English and when the guest in the room next to me smoked cigars (yes, cigars!), then refused to answer the door for staff, I was forced to change rooms. This sort of ignorant behavior should not be tolerated. ||||This hotel may be ok for Chinese, but certainly not international visitors. The neighborhood is filed with lower rise buildings from the early to mid century. The park half a block a way is gorgeous and in afternoons and evenings you can pick up basketball game |The hotel is clean but smoking is still allowed and not many floors are non smoking. Read moreThis boutique hotel is located in the heart of the French Concession near Hengshan Road. The lobby and public spaces are decorated with French details and are overall quite pleasant. The room feels about just under 200sq feet with a view of the city and is quiet with a comfortable king bed. The room is clean and all expected amenities are available. I did not have breakfast included with the room nor did I try the restaurant/bar so cannot comment on the F&B.
