Sea World — Attraction in Shenzhen

We stayed in the Seaworld Shenzhen surrounds as it was close to our inbound port Shekou Shenzhen. In the day, the area is bustling with many eateries and restaurants. It gets busier in the evenings as the temperature cools, and many come to dine in the many alfreso eateries and restaurants in the area. There is also a central 'lake' (behind the boat) which hosts a light and water show. We were there on a Friday evening, and managed to secure a nice table outside with a view of the watershow. It seems to go every 30 mins starting from about 7pm. With the 'major' show at 7 pm and 9pm. The 'major' show also had the fire shots blowing flames into the sky and seems to last longer (about 15 mins). Seaworld is a nice area to visit and live around. There are many hotels and shopping centres in the area, although it is a bit away from central Shenzhen. But the metro makes it pretty convenient with a Sea World stop that comes right up at the Prince Plaza and Zhenxing Building (ajoining shopping centres). When researching the area, I had found the information very confusing. This was not helped by 'Sea World' being a tourist theme park in many other parts of the world. Shekou Sea World isn’t just a sightseeing spot—it’s a lifestyle hub with a great mix of food, entertainment, and waterfront vibes. After a relaxing stroll around the iconic Minghua ship, we decided to have dinner at Grissini Kitchen, one of the many restaurants lining the vibrant plaza.

The location was spot on—right by the ship, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating options. We chose to sit indoors for comfort but still had a clear view of the Sea World promenade, which comes alive at night with lights, music, and people out enjoying the scene.

Grissini Kitchen offers hearty Western comfort food, and we ordered pasta, pizza, and grilled items. Everything was satisfying—flavors were familiar and portions generous. The kids enjoyed the cheesy pizza while I loved the creamy truffle pasta. Service was friendly and unrushed, letting us soak in the atmosphere.

A beautiful place with food from most part of the world. Filled with people on weekends. Nearby metro station is sea World. Main attraction is the ming hua ship and the fountain show at night. Even people from different parts of china visit this place. A huge shopping mall can be seen across the street (Gate way one). 2 McDonald's,kfc, burger King, pizza hut, Starbucks, subway are available. Main pubs are xpats, boa, terrace. The famous Turkish restaurant (halal) "doors" is located here. Mccawley's Irish bar, Tequila coyote's Mexican food and grill, li jia Korean restaurant, Ying ting japanese, club viva, Lowenburg brauhaus are other options. It's a must visit place in Shenzhen.2 indian restaurants here were closed after the pandemic. India spice restaurant relocated to taisi road, 500 meters from sea World. Many options for the kids. During holidays there will be decent activities here. Walk across the road a long beautiful walkway which you can reach upto houhai.
