We arrived after midnight and although the entrance and reception lights were dimmed, there was someone on reception. Check-in was quite smooth and fast but did not get our 2 rooms next to each other as requested, we put that down to checking in very late. When we open the door to our room, there was a small hallway and steps to the bathroom and bedroom, we were surprised as asked for an easy access room as my mother is in a wheelchair and has mobility issues. We spoke to reception about our room and they told us they did not received as request from my booking and they have no easy access rooms which was very disappointing. The rooms were nice and comfortable apart from the steps, there is a sink and either a cooking oven or sterilising oven in the hallway, we could not tell as there were no instructions either in Chinese or English, there was a wok burner but no pots/pans or cutlery, there was mini fridge located above the steps . The TV was connected to an IPTV box but was all in Chinese, there was no English instructions/guide to let you know what channels they had/what you could watch or how to access them. The WiFi joining instructions was all in Chinese and we were not able to access the WiFi as it needs your mobile number, the UK has 2 digit international dial code and 10 digit number (12 in total), when asked to put in your mobile number to received the WiFi confirmation link it only accepts 11 digits. The sliding doors to the outside private balcony (which has a washing machine) was not double glazed, so you hear the passing all night. In one room the bed was firm, but in our other room the bed was soft which is strange as you would think all the beds would be the same. The bathroom layout was also slightly different for both rooms, in one bathroom you could open the bathroom door and you could see/access the toilet straight away once inside you close the door and then you can see/access the bath/shower, in the other room it was the opposite way around. The breakfast on the ground floor was cheap compared to other hotels in the area but it was bland and had very limited choices i.e. just one fruit juice - orange which was diluted, one flavour yogurt - apple, plain congee which you add condiments to flavour it. If you want breakfast/lunch or dinner head towards Shopping Park metro station (10 mins walk) where there are Chinese and Western eateries right next to Coco Park and Link City. If you want cheap accommodation and to be walking distance from Coco Park, then the Sunflower Hotel and Residence Serviced Apartments...
Read moreThe hotel is in a central location, just a 10 minute walk from Coco Park. It is also relatively cheap. Because my room was on one of the sides of the building the bathroom had good views. I liked the layout of the bathroom, with a big shower.
There are some issues with this hotel: – The hotel has outdated materials and decoration. It needs some refurbishment. – The hotel is facing a big motorway, and there is a constant buzzing coming from car noise. The windows of the rooms are not properly soundproof and a lot of that noise gets in. I was using plugs to sleep. So it was not a real problem. But for sure the noise was noticeable at any moment. – The small fridge was so weak (even at max power) that it barely chilled drinks and food. – The listing in Booking.com has wrong pictures. It mixes pictures of the One-Bedroom Suite with some other Two-Bedroom Suite. The pictures on the listing are too well lit, and the rooms look newer in the pictures than what they actually are. – The listing of my One-Bedroom Suite claimed to come with a microwave. There was no microwave in my room.
Not sure if this hotel is worth it. It’s cheap and well located. If you don’t mind the above issues, go for it. But something a bit more expensive would give a more...
Read moreThis Hotel is very very noisy. There is practically zero soundproofing done here. Doors and walls are wood and when the locals close (slam) the doors everything shakes and you xan hear doors slamming from several floors away. Those walking on the floor above you feel like they are walking in the same room. Those talking outside waiting for ekevator to arrive filters right into your room.
Hotel owner spent $0 on soundproofing. 3M TAPE that tapes around doors to keep door from making noise when closing costs almost nothing. Signs outside asking gues to whisper outside ir keep sound volume in hallways and hotel rooms also cost almost nothing. This hotel needs better management to make rest more comfortable for their guests trying to rest or sleep. Deaf people will like this hotel though.
If the owner spent some money on a few signs asking guests to keep quiet and had their security guards making sure no one was outside late at night chatting out loud along with installing some 3M door tape to keep doirs quiet this hotel would be a better place to rest and sleep. Until then it gets...
