If you’re looking for a perfect 4 star venue in the city centre then look no further! This place is a good bargain all round the year and even in peak seasons. I am going to split my review into sections so bare with me.1) Rooms: The outdated the rooms need a serious paint jobs and the couch is quite “scratchy” material wise. Despite the interior eye sore, the flats are quite cosy with everything you need. Scenery wise , those who aren’t afraid of heights request the balcony rooms ! Maybe they don’t have the views of the shanghai centre shopping mall but the evening breeze did put me to sleep like a baby! Also the television was well packed with nostalgic movies , I really enjoyed the entertainment. Although the TV volume doesn’t go too loud , I guess it’s good respect to the neighbors some of who are long term tenants.2) Service: Impeccable. The people here, although clearly overworked are so nice! The housekeepers are all so wonderful ! They were the ones who let me come back to a clean flat everyday , really it was a piece of home with a whole lot of help! For shampoos and conditioners and shower gel you would need to let the front desk know you need it, so please keep that in mind! 3) Breakfast: Just enough for survival , I’m quite particular about my tastes in food where the buffet options were too less and unfortunately not too tasty. But I was able to survive…I really hope they can fix this though cause the place although cheaper than others isn’t exactly cheap as well. If you want a good breakfast spread , you will be left heavily disappointed. There’s a lot of cost cutting the hotel group has done and it’s obvious…I hope Ascott takes this into consideration cause it’s not good to have better hotels around the world but keep smaller cities forgotten and tightly budgeted!! Suzhou is quite expensive than other cities due to the constant influx of tourists. I don’t usually write much for my reviews but In this case I seem to care after seeing the overworked hotel staff and the poor conditions around them. Come on Ascott do better. I initially was tempted to give a 3/5 review stars but it’s the people that...
Read moreI stayed here a few times on weekend leisure trips several years ago. This was my first return visit for a few years. ||I booked on the ASR app and got a very good price for the area that the hotel is in. Check in and check out were very simple with the helpful reception staff both speaking fluently in English. I needed a temporary registration form as I had just flown in that day and would be moving to a private house after this trip and would need the temporary registration form from the hotel. The reception staff were very accommodating in providing this. ||The rooms themselves are quite no frills but are fully functional with good air conditioning, a small kitchen and a bathroom with a very small bath with a shower over the bath. The toilet is the Japanese style bidet toilet. ||The beds in this hotel are only 1.5m wide and are fine for one person. It would be a squeeze for two larger persons to sleep in such a narrow bed. ||There is a 24 hour Family Mart less than a minutes walk from this hotel which is handy for picking up any supplies. The hotel provides two 500 ml bottles of water each day. ||I was asked if I wanted a high floor and if I wanted smoking or a non-smoking room. I had an excellent view over the nearby park which is nice...
Read moreIf you are visiting Suzhou, it is an excellent place to stay. I stayed her for 4 nights and absolutely loved everything about this place. The Aparthotel is like an apartment where you get a kitchen to cook anything you want (with your own stuff of course). They have refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, everything that makes you feel like home. The place is sparkling clean, thanks to the everyday cleaning service that they offer. The family mart is just downstairs (1 minute walk). The hotel staff is super friendly. The receptionist could understand English and helped me in plenty of ways to go around. I am a vegan and they were kind enough to offer me to bake special eggless bread for breakfast. They did provide me with things that I could eat out of their extensive breakfast spread, most of which I couldnt eat being vegan. Very kind people, lovely cleaning staff, and everything about the place is nice. The helper at the main door was super helpful. He always helped me hail a taxi, reception lady even booked a few for me via her didi (Chinese Uber), as mine was not working.||This is the place I would love to stay again...Ten...
