Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre — Attraction in Suzhou City

I was staying across the street, visiting Suzhou on business. The city air was sweltering moist smog, and this "cultural center" offered good air conditioning. The interior is open, high ceilings on several levels with grand stairways leading up to -- well, I'm not sure, more steps leading back down? There is a concert hall in the middle of the stairs and levels, and presumably on occasion some manner of live performance is presented there. The doors to the hall were closed and I didn't feel like barging in on an important cultureal event. All I saw were other tourists taking selfies in front of large tapestries promoting -- well, I'm not sure about that either. Cultural...

A beautiful building which houses a theatre, IMAX cinema, various smaller events for local charities and schools and is the epicentre of cultural exchange with the West within Suzhou.

Orchestral evenings, Summer blockbuster movies and dance or dramatic events put on throughout the year.

Right next to Moon Harbour too if you want to make a full night of it.

Certainly a place you won't miss if you are driving past...

This is the location for the start area for the Jinji Lake Half Marathon on March 30, 2014. This race is very nice as it goes all around the famous lake of Jinji Lake.
