The Meister Brau of the North!

This is the more mature and romantic of the two Meister Brau(s). With a gorgeous view over the lake I'd recommend a sunset dinner here or even a pint or two of their microbrewery beer.

The location is quiet with perhaps just the odd kitten meowing to keep you grounded from getting too dreamy in the tranquil setting. Being right next to the theatre and arts centre makes it a great way to begin or end an evening.

The food is erstklassig! I won't labour my meagre knowledge of Germanic gastronomy but having had my fair share of cuts and sausages from Deutschland diners this place cuts the mustard!

With knuckles, platters, wienerschnitzel, roulade and rostis all over the menu there is plenty of choice. There are pizzas and pastas for those into that kind of thing but I'd say they would be missing out personally.

Some light musical entertainment comes on a little later but it isn't distracting and is fairly sweet. The staff are all very well presented and only appear as you go to summon them, very professional outfit.

One of my prized places to go for a romantic meal, although the outside (My favourite part) gets a little cold in the long Winters here - Can't blame the restaurant for that though.

Oh, spellcheck. I think somehow "Meister Brau" got translated to "Mash Burger" for Google Maps. This review is for Meister Brau Suzhou, which has been in this location for at least 6yrs. I reluctantly went (again) with coworkers who weren't up for anything more adventurous, and had a better experience than I expected. It helped that we ate outside with an unimpeded view of the pants building across the lake - one extra star for the view. Upsides: something for everyone. German favorites, steak, pizzas, spaghetti, salads and healthy veggie sides. Downsides: for bring a brau, there are only three draft beer choices.
