Wear hiking boots and go when it's dry as the climb up the dilapidated steps is very slippery, quite steep and at times down right dangerous.
The trail seemed to be marked with red dots whenever it broke into two paths so follow those and generally just take your time and take lots of water with you.
The view from the top is spectacular and hard to beat. You can see all the way to the bridge at Dubrovnik port from here.
The fort itself is pretty dangerous, I love a good clamber but that entrance was worrying. Skipping ahead, on our way out I realised we were walking past a room that had caved in and were actually walking on a heavily damaged ceiling. Yikes! That scared the hell out of me, I'm not afraid to admit, so be very very careful and watch your step.
The fort is not a museum and there are no information plaques or entrance fees. What you get is a ruin with lots of local wildlife (we saw a snake and an ample amount of lizards) and superb views so it's lovely if you're looking for a walk to burn off lunch somewhere off the...
