Lopud island is truly paradise. The small village feel, beautiful sunsets, great food, no cars and friendly people make it a wonderful place for a holiday. We spent 10 days here and loved every moment of it. We were worried that we would get bored, since the island is so small, but we did something different every day. Sunj beach is a great place to go, a sandy beach on the other side of the island. A little busier, but you can take a cool break at Bindo, a restaurant and bar in the forest with lots of shade and hammocks. Take the golf cart taxis a little further inland, cheap and fun (15 kunas)! We did lots of snorkeling while on Lopud (sold in many shops), the village also has a sandy beach, much less busy than Sunj and just as nice. We had our evening ritual of a sunset cocktail at Tropicana beach bar. The perfect show every time! We tried lots of restaurants here. Our favorites were: 1. Obala (try the traditional oven baked octopus), 2. La Villa, 3. Bindo (only open till 18:00), 4. Robinzoon (reserve 24 hours in advance, some dishes have to be ordered in advance and are worth trying). All prices are in Kunas and three course meal for two with a bottle of with will be about 150€. Getting to Lopud can be done by ferry via Dubrovnik or if you're staying at Lafodia, they have a great transfer service from the airport. Lopud is not a big night life place. But perfect for relaxing, enjoying the sun and great seafood. Make sure to try Croatian wines....
Read moreA beautiful island off the Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea and near to Dubrovnik. This no car allowed Island is a little gem, with panoramic views across the sea to the mainland and beyond. The island is home to a small number of residents, with a fantastic 4* hotel (The Lafodia), a number of small guest accommodations and pensions. There are small mini market facilities and several lovely restaurants on the island and it even has its own fort looking out over the island from where you can get a 360° view. For the sun worshipers there is a fantastic sandy beach on the south end of the island but the walk back up the hill is quite steep. Remember to take some cash with you as not everyone takes card payments and you can get a golf cart to and from the beach for 3€ per person each way. The beach has a great bar selling food and drinks and if you buy a drink you get to use the sunbeds...
Read moreWe had a fantastic 3-island boat tour visiting Lopud Island, Sipan, and Kolocep. Here’s a brief overview of each island:
Lopud Island: The largest and most developed island, Lopud has a variety of restaurants and shops. If you’re planning to visit just one island, I highly recommend this one!
Sipan: This island is quite small and doesn't have much to offer, but we enjoyed a nice walk around it.
Kolocep:Similar to Sipan, but slightly more vibrant and lively, making it a pleasant stop.
Overall, if you have the time for an 8-hour trip, I highly suggest this boat tour. Our company was Foreveryoung J.d.o.o., booked through GetYourGuide. The tour included hotel pickup and a delicious lunch. The islands also feature great restaurants, so you’re in for a...
